Review: NTS affiliates 92 Points secure some Alex Coulton heat and back it with remixes from Tessela and Beneath - this is how you put together an EP. With his releases for Idle Hands and Livity Sound last year, Coulton proved himself to be one of British techno's most interesting propositions, wrapping Shackleton-style atmospherics with sparing rhythmic structures. This continues with "Too Much Talk", its UKF inspired snares and deep subs sound very much like the recent work of Beneath - who himself contributes a remix which outdoes Coulton in its tense atmospherics. The most striking rework however comes from Tessela, whose breakbeat jungle reinterpretation has the expected amount of compression-induced grit and rhythmic swagger.

Review: Hotly tipped Puerto Rican producer Magnum steps up for a compelling five-track EP on 92 Points. "All Over Me" blends classic 90s stabs with rolling b-line and hazy, purple wow style synths, and as such the tune swaggers along with gorgeous musical prowess. The Visionist remix draws out the distorted vocal and strips back the synths, so it's more beat-driven. Returning to the original Magnum material, "Dense" is a filthy bassline roller with humming subs and gently enunciated beats (watch out for the excellent French Fries remix too). "Baby", the last original piece, blends cooing vocals, shimmying strings and a soulful late-night glow.
