Review: AIAIAI's A-Stand is based on a design by Dan Steingart PhD and serves a functional and practical purpose in improving your ergonomic position at your workstation.

The simple and iconic industrial design is inspired by the use of plumbing tubes in designing anything from chairs to lamps. The idea of creating a laptop stand out of plumbing tubes was taken up by AIAIAI Lab and was further developed into its current design and choice of material.

It is an original and practical example of great design.

You do know that that's much better for the eyes and overall posture rather than slouching over your PowerBook on your lap, but in any case, if you are or are not working with a prepped up laptop, or just not yet, or are thinking about getting a laptop stand, then AIAIAI would like to introduce you to this highly unusual contraption by the great guys over at AIAIAI in Denmark.

This is a laptop stand unlike any other you have seen yet, PVC tube (so yes, you could make this yourself), covered in a special soft touch rubber coating (so you might want to reconsider the DIY approach), in an awesome yellow (definitely not DIY) and well, the obvious black and white elegant version as well.

At 14.2" wide and 6" high (31cm x 15cm), it fits pretty much every laptop out there, all you have to do is assemble the beauty and you are good to go.

Review: The TMA-1 Studio headphones are AIAIAI's latest professional cans especially designed for the studio. The Copenhagen-based design collective had lengthy sessions in mind when they consulted with musicians, producers and engineers. They were looking to create a more referenced sound and enhanced comfort with the response and durability of the TMA-1, with an adjusted EQ curve to adapt the original's for use in the studio. They chose an over-the-ear design that increases comfort, especially appreciated when used for long periods of time.

The newly introduced TMA-1 Studio's feature several differences which help them excel in the world of production.

The Studios shun portability for comfort, appearing significantly bulkier than the vanilla TMA-1's. Featuring circumaural ears pads that fit around the ear and extra headband padding, the Studio's are comfortable even when worn for long periods of time - perfect for that all day studio session.

Under the hood AIAIAI have also tweaked the drivers themselves, giving the Studios a flatter, producer-friendly frequency response - and making them more delicately balanced then the slightly bass heavy TMA-1's.

The result is one of the clearest, most comfortable listening experiences available, with the protein based circumaural cups preserving rich highs, mids and lows whilst blocking all unwanted noise. Although not the most detailed cans at their price range, the overall package of sound, style and build quality make the Studio's hard to beat.

The sleeves consists of three layers, combined to give excellent protection for your laptop. Inside it has a smooth sports liner, which provides a soft touch. The core is neoprene, known for its shock-absorbing qualities and water resistance. The outer layer makes this laptop sleeve look good, but also adds sturdiness.

The design is simple, yet sophisticated. Each layer is constructed from a single piece, with a diagonal seam on the back. A heavy zipper on 2 sides gives easy access to your laptop.
