Judging by his bulging gig calendar and the frenzied hype surrounding his Soundcloud profile, Londoner East End Dubs is on the fast track to cocaine house success. His style - deep, hypnotic and curiously wonky - is clearly in-step with the likes of Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Maceo Plex, without exactly sounding like any of them. This latest EP for Act Natural contains numerous reasons to be cheerful, not least the snaking late night hypnotism of "Charlie Foxtrot". More suited to peaktime plays is the bubbling "She Loves It", all zippy beats, fluid grooves and muted vocal samples.
Without wanting to besmirch the good name of Tring, the town is hardly known as a thriving hub of high quality house music. This EP, then, is something a rarity: it's by a chap from Tring, it's full of nicely produced deep house, and it's rather good. There are three original tracks on show; the boompty-meets-classic NYC house vibes of "Shower Scene", the springy bassline proggyness of "Terrorize" and the old skool garage bounce of "Like One". There are also a couple of solid remixes, including a rather fine Mic Newman version of the title track that boasts some seriously alien synth melodies.
