Review:
Nav's "Space Chase" is arguably a slept-on classic. Initially recorded and released in 1996 by Navid Nourizadeh (brother of Omid '16B' Nourizadeh), it sits somewhere between spacious deep house, Detroit futurism and proto nu-jazz. Built around loose drums, darting synths and a killer double bass loop, it impressively rises and falls for 10 eventful minutes. In a way, it sounds like Paperclip People produced by the Burrell Brothers, with Rainer Truby on percussion duties. Which, to our ears at least, is a great combination. The (slightly edited) original version - here in remastered form - is accompanied by the vintage deep tech-house delights of the House Mix.
