Review:
Despite the popularity of tool house, there are still some fine deeper releases out there. As its title suggests, Deep S focuses on the musical side of house, with some stunning results. The title track, produced by Alex Danilov, strikes a near perfect balance between depth and dance floor appeal, its resonating bass laying the basis for ponderous keys and soulful vocal samples. Danilov's "Down S" is more laid back, as breezy chords chime over a mid-tempo groove. Djungl picks up the pace again on the dubby "Rakatakata", where bleeding acid lines combine with dreamy vocals, while Venedikt Reyf and Paul Eidner move towards more laid back tendencies with the insane sax squalling and lazy disco of "Sexspionage".
