Review: Techno infused vibes coming from the Bembe label and this solid three track EP from Tecca. Ita€™s a hat-trick of progressive-meets-tech house with a€iAmerican Swicha€™ packing the most punch and having dance-floor appeal. He switches it up on a€iFrontlinea€™ with a big female vocal taking center stage. Its back to the underground for the final tune in the package a€iSpecial Placea€™, which happens to be our pick of the lot with its deeper wobbly bassline. Infectious and relentless party grooves that you wont be able to stand still too.

Review: Bembe Recordings present a brand new remix EP of Danny W 'Drama', featuring the unique vocals of DJW. The original has a strong euro sound to it, largely due to the 80's inspired vocals and heavy synth work. The new mixes work the vox to full effect, quite rightly keeping them as the main focus point, and for us it's the Tecca Percussion mix which will do the most floor damage, bringing a driving tribal edge that strips back on what may be marmite elements of the Original. Other mixes to check out include DJ Phew, and Tribal Injection.

Review: What kind of music is this? Tribal techno? Tech-trance? Hard tech-house? Irrespective of how one seeks to categorise Monk, there is no doubt that it will cause chaos whenever and wherever it's dropped. Over a huge, pulsing groove and heavy tribal rhythm, TI drops expansive, dubby effects, a pulsing bassline and a trancey riff that gradually insinuates itself in over the meaty subs. But it's the detuned breakdown that fades into silence before starting up again, which is the most outrageous element - and which will undoubtedly drive any audience that hears it crazy. Expect support from big room techno DJs like Umek.

Review: There's a lot of tribal business going on in other, more fashionable, quarters, but this newie by the ever-prolific Mr Cohimba strictly looks to the original definition of the word. This is tribal house, 2012 style, so we have the pumping, rolling bass and chugging rhythms. However, he's also added something a little bit different; fuzzy warm synths build around an exotic bird sample while an austere narrator, erm, narrates about his house. It's very reminiscent of "Welcome To The Pleasuredome" or even the middle eight of "Invisible Light" by the Scissor Sisters - that's a very good thing in our book!
