Review:
Very mysterious and moody. Nice vocal to complement the forward pushing mood. Lovely anticlimactic beat, works well on the latter half of a set. Very current sound.
Skirmish could be the soundtrack to night time graffiti mission. The full moon leaking through the night time cloud cover, hood up and condensation from your breath escaping from under the bandanna that covered your mouth and nose. you can almost hear the spray can shaking as its pulled a from back pack... This track is full of tension. Morphing synth stabs, sharp snares and atmosphere are abundant.

Review:
Data tunes in to a distinctly Autonomic style sensibility here, with hazy atmospherics, thudding drum kicks, evasive edits and glitchy, clicking beats. Sitting in the same grey area as much of Instra:mental's earlier work, "Burning Paradise" builds in the second phase into a much heavier incarnation, with penetrating bass and deep, deadly subs, rather like a DMZ cut. More compelling energy comes from "Prognosis" which after a cinematic intro a la Rockwell falls into a touch, tech-ed up halfstep number, full of bubbling energy, grouchy b-lines and tripping breaks. Dark, brooding and utterly brilliant.

Review:
Mancunian bass music bastion, Joe Synkro has been making a name for himself in the underground music scene with releases on D Bridge's Exit Records, Hospital's offshoot Med School, Gilles Peterson's Brownswood and beyond. A versatile producer who is not averse to breaking the boundaries, traversing the 140-170 divide, this release on Blackout is a classic Synkro cut. "Prologue" blends an industrial intro with melancholy atmospherics and tough, terse beats which seem to ricochet off one another in the main body of the tune. "Summer Blues" has a lighter tone with hazy pads, sweeping instrumentals and lush, gentle beats.

Review:
Scene stalwarts and undisputed D&B legends Total Science head over to Blackout Music for their next release, which comes in the form of "Trespass" - a tough, menacing cut with acerbic breaks, hissing hi-hats sitting on top a rumbling b-line and disorientating ragga vocal sample. Then it's over to Metalheadz's finest, Jubei, who goes in on the remix of "No Justice" with just the aplomb you would expect - sweeping synths, crackling SFX and the gnarliest Icicle-meets-Enei-esque bassline. Killer!
