Review: Having enjoyed support from Fake Blood, Crookers, Boy 8-Bit and Boris Dlugosch, as well as being personally chosen by Cassius to remix their mighty "I ? You So", UK electro producer Bowski is on top form right now and is clearly a name to remember for 2012 if "Poppies" is anything to go by. Led by the quirky and dubby title tune, he goes equally gentle on the excellent "White Russian" which mixes deep Detroit pads with a deliriously warped melody and some tight, crisp snares. "Balloon Brain" rounds off this excellent EP in style, with a deep chiming motif sat nicely on top of a solid bass 'n' kicks groove.

Review: Fake Blood's ever-reliable imprint continue to spread the stripped down word as Lebreton makes his debut with two rather classy slices of electro-informed house music. "Steam" is just one long bassline that doesn't sound dissimilar to Stephan Bodzin's more gnarly work. With a solid groove and well executed twists in the speaker ravaging tale, it's soon to appear in the Oxford English Dictionary under the word 'infectious'. "Tribes" is of a similar 'less is more' mentality as a dampened steel drum riff does most of the negotiating, ably backed up by some rather striking bongos and a whimsical psychedelic topline. Deep, percussive and eerily addictive, it's full "Steam" ahead for the Blood Music family right now.
