Review: First, let's just take a minute to reflect on how cool spider monkeys are. Cluekid's clearly a fan of the monkey world's scattiest critter; he's named an entire track after them. He's even crafted a frenetic percussive rhythm to match their crazed, clambering movements. Tropical and triggered to ensure maximum bounce, it's one of Cluey's most energetic cuts to date. "Rainy Street Light" plays the perfect foil; deep and moody, it's more your classic halfstep but with shades of deep house in the chord structure and shy melodic squiggles. A great way to calm down after an attack of the spider monkeys.

Review: There are some really exciting movements going on around the 150-160 mark right now. And it looks like Las has turned up to the party with a whole keg of creative funk. With polyrhythmic footwork and a thundering heartbeat bass/kick combo, "Zaikedelic" isn't far off the early Moving Shadow releases over 20 years ago while remaining completely fresh at the same time. "Preacher" sees us move back down towards 140 pastures but the funk's still here in abundance; with a wonderfully spliced vocal riff and the perfect amount of hand drum tickles and slurring sub it's another Las-stamped thriller. "Zone Of Bones" completes the set on more of a techno flex where the bass does about 80 per cent of the talking and the beats nod confidently in the background. A deep way to end a very exciting release.

Review: Fresh from appearances on two of this year's best label showcases in Brownswood Electric 2 and Exit Records' Mosaic compilation, Synkro returns to Black Box offshoot Box Clever. The ethereal trance like atmospherics and woozy chants that fill out "Tribe" obviously provide the titular inspiration, though it's the dizzying precision and attention paid to the sharp reverse gear drum patterns that impress the most here - calling to mind Instra:mental remixing Akufen. In contrast to the rigid procession of the A Side, "Here's Yours" displays a winning loose 2-step swing that's complemented by the warm nether regions and bubbling arpeggiated melodics.

Review: Expect some seriously blissed out beats to emerge from Box Clever as they bring us the highly talented TMSV. First up is "Stress" which is a deep and complex piece, building up layers of sounds - strained synths are paired with clip clop beats and a murmuring vocal drone, which is somehow incredibly disorientating. The accompanying "Lost" is another contemplative piece composed of rattling beats, gentle pattering bongos and trembling melodies poised above. Interesting and intriguing work here - check it.
