Review:
The first release from breakbeat label Breakz R Boss of the new year sees Canadian turntablist Somsay tear it up on "Crack Fever". With some gonzoid stacked drum fills, gritty distortion bass and a sea of samples scattered over the mix, Somsay mixes gnarly breaks with an echoey, dancehall skank on this red-blooded winner. Eddie Voyager adds even more woozy menace to his remix - as well as a vicious bassline - while Youthful Implants come through with a killer dubstep overhaul to round off the essential breaks release of the week.

Review:
It's a remix battle royale as Somsay's good work gets a rub-up from five new producers. Ash Howard's take is a rolling, shiny, metallic electro breakbeat groove that sits very comfortably under Mr Rags spitfire Young MC style delivery. Further on we find Martopeter adding a dash of trance to the party while Resistance gets wild with some rather heartwarming bass squelches and gurgles. NUDLZ up the tempo for something much more rough, ready and riddled with rave and Raggapop Inc opt for a more low-swung, almost grungy swing. We know what you're thinking; who wins the battle? YOU do.

Review:
Vocal vibes! If your dancefloor is trudging in too much darkness, or you fancy igniting your set with a slice of cheeky vibrancy, Tripwave and able songstress Sw@t have created the perfect blend of growling multi-layered bass and lush, spine-tingling vocals. With glitches and twinkles galore, you can file this one under 'what a rush!' Remixes from Kyle Cross and Toronto Is Broken complete the release. The former gets epic on the synths and includes a truly breathtaking breakdown while the latter gets ravey on an old school breaks flex. Powerful stuff.

Review:
Canadian label Breakz R Boss bring you the first in a set of collections that revisit some of the most hype remixes from BRB so far. Always trading in superior electro-inspired breakbeat, the label have included gems such as Vize's mix of Kyle Cross' rockish "Records You Play", the "Amen"-sampling "Bring It Back", remixed by Rebel Sketchy, and Toy Quantise's devilish and dark overhaul of Scratche's "Weird Science".
