Review: The mysterious Mick Finesse drops a hefty dosage of broken, metallic-infused techno on the elusive Broken20 camp. A follow up to January's debut EP on Perc Trax, this latest release sees Finesse develop his hypnotic brand of warped beats and drones. "Concept Trauma" is a sparse, breakbeat fuelled number which will have your jaws clenched and head nodding; whilst "Mettle Debris" is a literal journey into grainy 4/4 textures and frenetic sounds. "The Ebb Of Crime" is the EP's standout piece, where a subtle, almost chimerical mixture of melodies transforms into a sludgy mass of sub bass levels and inconspicuous beat layouts. There's a fine selection of remixes to boot, with Cassegrain, TVO and Tengui Mettle Jacket reinterpreting the tracks without compromising Mick's creativity and grit on the originals.
