Review: Cluekid delivers a couple of stripped back cuts here on the Bullfrog imprint which delve beneath the surface of the current dubstep aesthetic and into a stark, sparse soundscape from which the genre originated. "Grim" starts with a feeling that you are trapped in a small, confined space with a distorted vocal sample adding to the gloom. The track progresses with only belching sub bass and ticking percussion to guide you through the darkness. "Lost In Space" continues the narrative with spaced out atmospherics, gloomy sub bass booms and hissing hi-hats. A curious release here from Cluekid that is well worth checking.

Review: Distinguished producer Cluekid offers two tracks of classic South London dubstep on his very own Bullfrog imprint, following a relatively quiet 2010. "Hawkeye" is a tense and brooding stepper, filled with stumbling rhythms punctuated by a bubbling synth melody and razor sharp bass crawls up from below sludgy sub frequencies. "Recognition Of Youth" meanwhile is an altogether more percussive affair, with jungle inspired rhythms that roll through bright pads and a shimmering purple tinged melody, whilst an all encompassing bass hum permeates the icy fluorescence.

Review: Marking the first release of 2012 for both Cluekid and Bullfrog, the man who has been around since the days of Croydon dubstep brings us a couple of out and out killers fresh from his studio. "Ninety Three" is an Amen workout of epic proportions, with rattling breaks complimented by creaking, warping SFX and murmuring b-line. Accompanying it is aptly named "Swampman" with its lurching, subterranean bass, minimal, dubbed out soundscape and eerie, empty overtones. Bassheads - fix up, look sharp and get this now!
