Review:
It's time to lock up your daughters as the Cannabis road show arrives in town. Focused on slamming, filtered techno, tracks from DJ Lucas, G8 and Event 7 pull no punches. It would be wrong however, to assume that Special consists solely of samey techno. De Oliveira's "Rotary" features an insistent disco riff, while Ganez' "Sickness" is full of jarring stabs and eerie vocal samples. Indeed, the most rewarding results occur when artists explore other areas, with the metallic, chain mail percussion of H Paul's "Flowers" and deeper yet still hard-edged grooves form Mark Rey and Spektral impressing the most.
