Review: Out on his own Cheap Thrills label, Herve swoops under the radar with his Action Man alias on these two new acid-drenched winners. "Life Cycle" is a perfectly measured jack-to-the-future, complete with deep intoning vocal loops, 808s, old-school stabs, as well as a simply perfect build-up. "Your Prayers Won't Save You" is more urgent, with some high-pitched keys coming up against Eastern percussion in the vein of Duke Dumont's mighty "Hoy". Big, big stuff indeed.

Review: This newie from Baxta is a little different to previous Cheap Thrills releases. While the UK funky/garage/B-more/tropical fusions on offer do come loaded with heavy drums and gut-wrenching bass, there's also plenty of subtlety to the production and some choice melodies and ear pleasing sounds (see the title track and the touchy-feely breakdowns of "Skyline"). Recommended.

Review: Having previously dropped a remix on Baxta's excellent Connection EP, D1 makes his own debut on Cheap Thrills with the heady treats of his Devotion EP. The title track excellently fuses hardcore, piano house as well as the famed hook from Nomad's seminal early-'90s rave hit of the same name. On an even more wonked-out and minimal tip, "Ace Of Spades" is a bass-thumping kuduro-esque banger, as is the equally paced-up sine-wave rocking "Are You Buzzing". Rounding off with the malicious swirl of "Whiskey & Coke", this makes for an equally forward-thinking and club-rocking EP that's a must for Cheap Thrills aficionados.

Review: With a name that sounds like some pub glam rock band, and a sound that brutally fuses electro with bass, funk and some serious shades of trance, Death Rose Cult aren't hard to miss... And they're only on their debut release! "Badman" is a real false-proceedings number; it opens with a hefty pump but nothing can prepare you for the drop when it finally lands. Meanwhile "Voodoo" is a far more full-frontal beat ambush; devious dubstep along the similar lines to High Rankin or the Never Say Die lot - it's extreme in every sense.

Review: Back after too long away from the new releases racks, Fake Blood returns with this haunted trio of electro-tech beauties. Long anticipated, they are sure to satisfy expectations - with "Deep Red" evoking a John Carpenter movie, "Voices" creating a murky web of sine chords and analogue bass and best of all, the urgent stomp of "Medieval", which sounds as though a antique harmonium has been pumped full of steroids thanks to waves of bass and distressed bleep leads that are fed over the ancient chords.

Review: No, this release on Herve's excellent Cheap Thrills imprint isn't by the Marvel character of the same name. Rather, Galactus is the nom de plume for a mysterious up and coming producer. These two introductory tunes display two different sides to his sound: the title track is a frenetic and quirky number that begins with tropical beats, zany audio frequencies and vocal chants before launching into some dubsteppy basslines. ''Midnight Resistance" meanwhile is a dancefloor-annihilating electro-disco pounder replete with off-kilter bass grooves and even a cowbell! One to watch, most definitely.

Emphatic, emotive and uplifting, there's no surprises why the daytime radio stations are all over this. Those hungry for a more late night edge should jump on Pixel Fist's rather alarming dubstep take. Those peckish for more of a slinkier, discofied spice should seek out Mighty Mouse's rub. For a more jacking, classic house vibe, it's all about the Ulysses remix while Birdee takes the vibe up several notches with a body-slamming jack-assed groove. Review: As prolific as he may be, this is actually Herve's debut album. Well, it is under this name; we'll ignore the fact he's caused all sorts of speaker juice as Young Lovers, The Count & Sinden and Machines Don't Care, this is his first proper album under his most popular name. The big question is, it is any good? Well of course it is. Very good, in fact. This is largely down to his fine balancing act of eclecticism and consistency; the very first two tracks prove this - from the string-soaked, bass-caked opener "Glooming" to the epic, synth-struck vocal smasher "Better Than A BMX", his understanding of contemporary club bruisers and blissed out electronica is second to none. Other highlights include the 90s homage "Blamalama", the mosh-worthy guitar-bless dubstep wig-out finale "Keep Your Head Inside" and the Fake Blood-esque farty bass work out "Gnarly". Now pick yourself up, calm yourself down and sort yourself out with this debut!

Review: Two albums in as many years and still the Cheap Thrills boss keeps feeding our fix for idiosyncratic, unpredictable off-kilter electronica. Just as deep and textured as the album, this remix package digs far and wide... Taiki & Nulight add a hefty 4/4 garage stomp, Arcadis makes "Gold" glitter with hypnotising, almost prog-like lavishness and Second City add a clicky, hip-snake riddim to "Save Me". "Lose Control" enjoys two rubs; Hoi! manages to fuse elements of trap with technicolour Rustie style psychedelia AND Mighty Mouse Balearica while Johan Hugo goes for the unashamed chill-out spine-tingle factor. This release won't disappear too quickly, that's for sure.

Review: Blimey! Before you listen to this, go back and listen to "Zombies". Released two and a half years ago, its damp electro grizzles tore apart every dance from Delhi to Dartford. Now listen to "Zombies 2" and do a little 'wtf?' Herve has pimped his already fine ride into a hair-raising monster. Whether he's developed as a producer or got a new studio, this is a textbook musical makeover. Elsewhere on the release we find The Sneekers adding some Moroder -edged depth to "Gnarly" and Galactus pitching "Blamalama" down to a dangerous level of dark acidic stomp.

Review: Cheap Thrills has always been about keeping things fresh and moving forward, refusing to be pigeon holed, largely down to Herve being behind it of course. As the label continues to evolve we see this great EP from the hotly tipped Housquare (whom won a remix comp for the man himself last year). Review: Jack Beats is the production brainchild of scratch DJs Beni G (Mixologists) and Plus One (Scratch Perverts). Cheap Thrills seems to be Jack Beats perfect match with EP releases in 2009, 2010 and now again in 2011. This time, they have teamed up with Beta Recordings label owner John B whose extensive discography is nothing short of impressive. "All Night" is a belter, an inescapable track riddled with funk and groove, jackin' basslines and a classic sounding vocal. The release boasts a remix from dubstep don Skream, who lifts the vocal and utilises some burning electro synth stabs. "Elevator Music" brings the EP to a close with rubber rhythms, tightly sprung beats and rapid percussion.
