Review:
Having carved out a name for themselves banging out rough and ready D&B through the 90's, V Recordings sister imprint Chronic are back on the case with this six track EP from Brazilian outfit Critycal Dub. Title track "Touch The Sky VIP" featuring Level 2 sees them slam down the gauntlet with a bass heavy excursion that sets the tone. "Reasons" has nasty synths and hyperactive beats, while another Level 2 collaboration "Rock Steady" strips the elements right back to create a real stepper. "Slump" and "Break Tone" are more minimal but just as deadly and closer "Space Vision" is a romper stomper.

Review:
With a name like Presents Zion Sounds, it doesn't take Sherlock-like levels of deduction to work out Juiceman's inspirations. From start to finish, this bubbling four-tracker offers a contemporary take on ragga jungle with just enough of an old skool twist to impress ageing ravers. "Knives" is particularly old skool, ditching most of the dubwise flavour in favour of a snappy, jungle-step groove and drifting rave-era vocal hits. "Dan Gargan" focuses the action around a well-known ragga vocal sample and growling grooves, while "She Said" is pleasingly deep. The real stand out, though, is the heady, intoxicating ragga jungle-meets-deep D&B of "Zion Sounds" itself; it's the EP's best moment by some distance.

Review:
A collection of artists come together for the Big Bad & Heavy EP Part 3 Xtra which does what it says on the tin with a bunch of bonus material which will blast your socks off. Kicking off with "Straight To The Point", it's all sparse beats and rumbling b-lines and it's a similar story in Duoscience & Unreal's "Back Of The Truth". Andrezz shakes things up with old skool flavours a-plenty in "Blows Up" before Ruffstuff & Jayline get busy with jump up grizzling "Stadium Rays VIP". "Back In Time", "Horn Dance" and "Boogie Man" provide a lovely concluding triplet of tracks on a more dancefloor led tip.
