Review: Darker than the night and deeper than the Pacific, Amoss steps up to Dispatch once again with a three part session of pure danger. "Oxide" features the evil machinations of Fre4knc and as it rumbles and writhes that grumbling bass slips further and further off the scale. "Hold Back" takes the underground sound of industrial drums to a neck snapping ninth degree, tuning out all distractions, leaving the bass to drive forwards and provide the melody. "Skittles" takes over the final spot, mixing up a ravey drum pattern with disturbed effects and menacingly low freq bass. Nasty stuff.

Review: Few things are certain in life: death, taxes and Amoss executing serious skills with every EP release. Following this spring?s Dispatch outing with ?Oxide? the duo return with four more stark slices of icy jungle futurism: ?Wayman Break? is a brush-drum scuffle in a car park with a gang of angry frogs whose croak is sharper than their bite. ?Vortice?, meanwhile, takes us deeper into the furthest echelons of neuro business with Dutch upstart Fre4knc helping them conjure a much meaner, menacing groove. ?Stalling Theme? switches us up again with arresting vocals wrapped around a Zero T-style harp-plucking groove. Finally we hit ?Crooked Arm?, a straight up grizzle flex that will work perfectly in tech, neuro, jump up and minimal sets.

Review: Upcoming D+B talent Amoss has impressed with his past releases and now steps up for more tough, stripped back D+B goodness on Dispatch. This five-track EP has it covered; from "Shapeshifter (feat. MC Fokus)" which gets things started with its clicking beats and gently pattering spoken words, through "New Jack Swing" with its acerbic twisting synths, to "Latch" - a collab with Dabs - with its rough, tough beats. "Rollpipe", up next, is another stand out cut from the EP with rumbling bass and thumping drums. Digital exclusive "Tikkd" completes the proceedings with a flurry of razor sharp snares and enticing atmospherics.

Review: Long term comrades, first-time collaborators, Andy Skopes and Mako collide for a fantastically sharp and springy tech jam in the form of "The Mercenary". Laced with a heavy twang of 97 era Photek, the futurism on this has a halflife of 500 years. Mako makes up the rest of the EP with three crucialities: the molten rolling halftime sways of "A Break From Suspension", the skittering jungle drums of "Looking Back" and supreme 23rd century funk on the ping-pong bass and trampoline two-step of "On My Happiness". 101? 911 more like... This is dangerous.

Review: St Petersburg newcomer Black Barrel has been steadily creeping up the ranks in the last two years via labels such as Fokuz, Celsius and Addictive Behaviour with his measured, lean and often restrained rhythms. Upping his game with a Dispatch debut, this is some of his starkest collection yet. Highlights include the almost jazzy flutters of the sub-pulsating space jam "Osteopath" and the precision sprung funk in the rattling percussion and solid swing over "Contact". Barrels of fun.

Review: Having featured prominently in numerous DJ sets and mixes of late, the collab between Bristol based Break and South London's Survival finally gets a release on Ant TC-1's Dispatch Recordings. "Your Time Will Come" is beautiful blend of tough, percussive breaks, squawking bass and blissed out atmospherics with just a hint of a breathy vocal whispering ominously "your time has come" throughout the track. Survival then goes solo on the flipside, bringing in his trademark heavy, understated cool vibes with "Harsh Language" - a classic late night roller with a deep driving tech-y b-line and sparse SFX, simmered away to perfection.

Review: The working relationship between Cern and Dispatch Recordings is already very strong thanks to a series of releases from Ollie Macky's project on the label over the past five years, so it makes perfect sense that a second long player from him is due in the coming months. Whilst a three-track sampler is never going to offer a conclusive insight into how Under Another Sky might sound, it will undoubtedly whet the appetites of Cern fans everywhere! "Tiamat" is nothing but a marauding opener, rich with that vicious sense of sound design and finely crafted rhythm that the Cern approach has become synonymous with, whilst the delicate strings and atmospherics of "What We Bring Upon Ourselves" suggest the upcoming album wont be packed full with dancefloor monsters. "Conway" closes proceedings and feels like the ghost of "Inner City Life" trapped and tormented deep within a rhythmic mainframe that is equal parts abstract and vicious.

Back & Forth - (5:32) 173 BPM

Review: Cern teams up with Italian producer Dabs for a killer release on Ant TC-1's Dispatch Recordings. Channelling the same sentiment as the protagonist of Conrad's "Heart Of Darkness", "Oh The Horror" kicks off with mumuring metallic SFX, sci-fi synths and pelting drums and develops into a souped up slice of futuristic funk, with driving energy and enough bass to make you foam at the mouth. Dark and heavy with a menacing undercurrent, this is darkside D&B at its best and most poignant. "Back & Forth", on the other hand, is a more stripped back venture, with a tense intro, ticking percussion and a roughed up Jubei style patina.

Review: Bringing the experimental vibes has always been a strength of Ant TC1's Dispatch Recordings and this latest release doesn't bow to commercial pressure. "Degeneration" is a dark cacophony of deep atmospherics and shattered breaks, with lunging bass pushing forward and striking with Cern's trademark deadly accuracy. DBR UK and MTWN's inclusion "Shrapnel" is a fierce stepper with dubby bass vibes set firmly in after dark mentality. One for minimal tension, one to make you move, both from a label that's set itself in firm 'buy on sight' territory for years. An insta-bag.

Review: Leeds up-and-comer Cruk makes his Dispatch debut and levels up as he does so... "The Moment" kicks with some really interesting space around the beats and bassline that squiggles rather than grunts. "Bad Faith" takes us deeper into the sub abyss with steppy beats that wouldn't go amiss in a Skeppy set. "Bloodlust" is a much creepier jam with layers of dense atmospherics wheezing and breezing over sinewy electrical basses while "Shalebridge Cradle" hails to The Thief with a super-spaced out stepper where the groaning elastic bass takes full focus. Go Cruk yourself.

Review: The next installment from Dispatch comes courtesy of Dabs. Going solo in entree "Subsidiary" it's all about the snapping snares, metallic, futuristic SFX and moody, murky bassline as we start; moving swiftly on, Dabs teams up with Safire in "Time Carrier" - a slice of future funk with spaced out atmospherics, warping bass and frantic percussion. Next, South London's Survival and label boss Ant TC-1 go in on the remix on Cern & Dabs' "Oh The Horror". Drawing out the tension of the intro and amplifying the bass, this one's a killer. "Stendhal" - an excellent collab with Amoss - brings the EP to a close.

Review: Years of supporting and studying have paid off as long-standing Sydney representer takes a really big bite into something big this year. Noisia's Invisible, Klute's Commercial Suicide have both boasted his sharp skills this year. Now Ant TC1's Dispatch is too.... "Interceptor" flicks and kicks with a loopy, mild techno dynamic while "Faded Memory" uses an interesting, slightly slappy loose synth for the swaggering bassline. He's brought his mate Sach for the ride for two more contrasting constructions: "No Escape" stands out with the pitch-bent swoops on the fills creating a really trippy jazzy feeling while "Nadir" is a Headzy stepper with arctic levels of coldness in the groove. Crispy.

Review: It's been a long time coming for DBR UK; cutting their teeth with early releases on their own Broken Audio, Ingredients and Samurai, it's their relationship with Dispatch that's really flourished the most. Here we find them working together for DBR UK's debut album and, in classic Dispatch style, not one of the tracks sounds out of place: the jazzy represents style vocalage of "Time Will Tell", the late night warehouse nasty of "Dark Alley", the stark soul and futuristic scattergun rhythm of "Only You" and the early Headz style ice of "Memory Lane" reflect how much thought and precision studio time have gone into this album. Rough edges, smooth soul: DBR UK aren't messing around with this.

Review: Ahead of their debut album Rough Edges, Broken Audio founders DBR tease us with one brand new album track and a menacing remix of their last Dispatch banger "Say What You Want". "Hexton" is the opening track from the new album; icy and lean with jelly like bass that wobbles over the chubby kicks, it's a mean and minimal statement of collaborative intent. Cern is the man behind the aforesaid remix, igniting the original with immense new drums and a Goldie-like wall-of-sound aggression. Timelessly anarchic.

Review: The cheeky vocal hooks on "Fortress VIP", the latest sonic assault from junglists DBR UK, remind us of the Reprazent classic "Brown Paper Bag". Musically, the track has little in common - it sits in the steppier end of the D&B spectrum, for starters - but in terms of atmosphere and dancefloor effect, positive comparisons can be made. The original version, also included, treads a similar path (minus the catchy MC vocal snippets), while "Carpe Diem" offers more straightforward, traditional dark D&B dancefloor thrills thanks to the use of fat breaks and nightmarish atmospherics.

Review: Longstanding London selector Denial steps up to Dispatch with two black belt tag team finishing moves. "Missions" sees him taking a 130mph drive in a jet black M3 in the dead of the night: Stealth-like, dangerous and unstoppable. "Poison Light" sees Denial and DBR UK take off where they left us on Soul Flex a year ago: spacious, pensive atmospherics over a classic rattling stepper rhythm and just the right amount of haunted thanks to its classic eastern prayer call. There's no denying this one.

Review: Damn, it's motherhumping Digital! The Metalheadz member and d&b pioneer makes a rare appearance in this day and age on Dispatch Recordings and he's come through as pensive as ever with his sleek and contemporary take on the jungle variety. "Red Alert" is what you'd call a 'minimal' d&b cut, while "A Message" takes a half-step groove and adds in subtle waves of breaks to the mixture. Finally, the dude teams up with Audio Habitat and Mad Vibes for "Maintain", a meditative excursion into the deepest depths of neo-jungle.

"Master Funk" is no exception to this rule, so you can put it on your wish list right now. The track kicks off with firm, snapping beats, murmuring atmospherics, gentle undulating b-line and pounding sub bass. Soon the chanting vocal riff "master funk" kicks in, and rolls over the beats like a boat bobbing around on the sea. Everything about this tune just works. Highly recommended.

Review: Dispatch's funky filth purveyor DLR is finally releasing his LP chunk by chunk in the form of tantalising samplers. Well, consider us tantalised. "Empyreal" features Hydro and mixes fresh, light musicality with the dark, weighty bass he's most known. It's a bold step into a world of technical, beautiful production and we can't wait to hear more. "Control The Sound" features the legendary Total Science and brings back some dark tribalism to the mix. Sludgy and oozing, the bassline doesn't so much roll as slither, bringing a strange off-tempo, melted feel to the whole track. Counteracted by crisp percussion, it's a masterpiece only DLR could have dreamed.

Review: DLR is consistent, and for most, that's not a compliment. But when you start running with heavyweights from the very beginning thanks to being nurtured under the watchful gaze of Ant TC1 and crew, keeping up that standard can involve a trick or two. Luckily he's nailing it. Seeing Sounds is an LP worth getting your knickers in a twist about, and if you don't believe us, here's the first sampler to whet your appetite. It's got all the dark and filthy basslines you'd crave from the man, with added techy substance and even a bit of emotion. "Pyoyb" guarantees to put you on your back with a devilishly simple bass hook that's so overwhelming and perfectly distorted and granular it stands out from any bass texture being made in the game right now. "Wheel Of Fortune" is equally unique with a drum set that will thrill thanks to its slippery highs and an almost psy-like arpeggio driving the groove with the perfect air of paranoia. Both cuts set us up for the full LP perfectly with their refusal to be pigeonholed and their resounding but not over the top clarity. There's a reason why DLR is described among his peers as a studio genius - these are but two.

Review: This is it - what every Dispatch head has been waiting for: DLR's debut solo full-length effort - and it's big. Focusing on sound design and sonic manipulation, there haven't been many LPs as exciting to get to grips with as this one for quite some time. Swinging wildly from unsettling off-beat experimentation ("Raindrops" or the frenzied, paranoid "I Found Out") to neck-snapping realism like "Charlie Brown" and "Empyreal" featuring Hydro, through to the tweaked rolling gorgeousness of "Mind's Eye", this is a crafted piece of work. You'd be blind to miss this

Review: Barely 18 months have passed since his solo debut Seeing Sounds and DLR returns with another deep detail exercise. Fired by the current political climate, the Bristol-based artist breaks down the echo chamber with killer warm, grainy and fat productions. Whether it's the understated loose funk of "Trip Up", the pressure-cooked, sub-baked rave textures of "Wonder What It Feels Like" or the dark alley paranoia of "Unusual Behaviour" that gets you woke then the Photekian spaciousness and dubby wonder of "Wasting Time" and the Badco style drone of "Time Is Everything" will certainly send you into a post-truth punch-up. Sweet dreams are made of this.

Review: Dispatch haul out the big guns for this massive release, a tune that has had hundreds of D&B faithfuls punching the air. After all, who doesn't love Need For Mirrors? Not wanting to disappoint, the D&B master-team of NFM, Nymfo and HLZ bring forward "Totem", and it's a darkly disturbing rain of hellfire that pours down with a precise and relentless undercurrent of ferocity. Too fancy a description? It's murky. It's dark. It's disgusting. It'll make your eyes hurt. Label favourite DLR's solo tune on the flip "Novate" nods back to the heady days of D&B while keeping things forward-facing with a big merker of a bassline. Devastating stuff but like we always say, you've got to respect the Dispatch crew.

Review: Following last year's "Spaceship", Ukraine's Dub Head lands his craft at Dispatch HQ once again... "Cepheid" twinkles with a deep, almost jazzy or Detroit-ey resonance, all measured heaviness with light years of rolls. "Pulsar" emits stronger rays of energy. A tight stepper with sprung funk and molten lava textures, it's as magnetising as its name suggests. "I Need It" whips our heads back from the cosmos with a soul-slapping vocal sample that surges with allure while "Bad Signal" shuts down the system with a subtly trippy, minimal funk groove where every sound and element has its rightful place.

Review: Creeping ever closer to their 100th release, the Dispatch crew have pulled some serious rank on this sterling piece of innovative drum and bass from Ed:it. Known for his intricately patterned and fast-paced take on the genre, there's not an Ed:it song made that can't fill dancefloors. They just work. This EP verges on perfect and you need to experience "Radio Ghetto Soul" to make 2015 complete.

Review: Remix alert: Dispatch return to Gerra & Stone's well-marked "Unbreakable" EP with a clutch of remixes from some of D&B's most respected names. First up Zero T adds a little more pace and uplift to the naked soul depths of "Unbreakable", Blocks & Escher take the jungle frenzy of "Plates" and add a tunnelling dark room drum thump and bring our attention to different elements of the original in their own pace, Mako pays very close attention to the lucid liquid of the original "Almost U" while adding a little more muscle to the bassline and flex to the instrumentation. Exemplary remixes to the very core.
