Review:
The Pictures At An Exhibition was filmed at the Lyceum in London in December 1970. A slightly different version was recorded for a live album release in Newcastle in early 1971. The film version was finally released in cinemas in 1973 and has had brief previous releases on VHS and DVD. This new special edition, forty years on from when it was originally filmed, has the most complete version of the film available and is presented in the best possible sound and picture quality, complete with the original seventies psychedelic effects. The band is in fantastic form and their awesome musicianship is instantly apparent.

9 Harp Solo (Call Me Up), 10 Big Day, 11 Standing On The Top, 12 Mary Jane, 13 Mary Jane March, 14 You And I, 15 Give It To Me Baby, 16 Super Freak, OVERVIEW: Rick James was a true larger than life character, as famous for his electric live performances as he was for the trouble he got into off stage. He arrived on the Motown label in the late seventies and reinvigorated the company with a string of hit singles and albums and his outrageous style and personality. This concert filmed for the German TV series Rockpalast came on the back of his multi-platinum selling 1981 album 'Street Songs' which contained what would become his signature track 'Super Freak', later converted by MC Hammer into the global hit 'U Can't Touch This'. Rick James died at the age of just 56 in August 2004. We will probably never see his like again but this DVD shows just what an amazing live performer he was. Features many of Rick James' biggest hits including: 'Ghetto Life', 'Big Time', 'Mary Jane', 'You & I', & of course 'Super Freak'. Only Rick James DVD currently available in the UK. Full audio commentary by David Byrne, Jerry Harrison, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth. OVERVIEW: ''Chronology'' pulls together live performances from across Talking Heads'' career. It starts with their earliest days at CBGB and The Kitchen in New York City in the mid-seventies, through their breakthrough years in the late seventies and on to global success in the eighties. They completed their last tour in 1983 although they would continue to make very successful albums throughout the eighties before officially breaking up in 1991. The DVD concludes with their ''reunion'' performance of ''Life During Wartime'' on their induction into the Rock ''n'' Roll Hall Of Fame in 2002. Initial quantities of the DVD are packaged in a hardback cover with a 48 page book containing photographs and an unexpurgated Lester Bangs essay written as a review of the ''Fear Of Music'' album for The Village Voice in 1979 but only ever published in a heavily edited version. This will only be produced as a single run of 15,000 copies for Europe. Hugely influential band with an extremely dedicated fanbase. ''Stop Making Sense'' is the only other Talking Heads live DVD available and remains a very strong seller. Features brand new audio commentary by all four band members.
