Electunes At Juno Download

Review: There's something decidedly odd, if appealing, about this Electunes debut by newcomers Kitt Bang and Enne. Lead cut "I Ho Key" somehow manages to fuse clanking, vocoder-heavy synth grooves with spiralling, fairground organ flourishes. It should sound dreadful, but it actually works. The included Migumatix Bodyjack Remix is, if anything, even stranger - though its snappier beats and wonky atmosphere suggest greater dancefloor potential. "Sweat Chase 2.0" and "Gonna Get Ya Soul" step further towards real disco territory, offering such delicious, dancefloor-friendly elements as low-slung electric bass, clavinets, dubbed-out horn motifs and shimmering piano flourishes. Think Drop Out Orchestra meets Mullet, and you're close.
