Review:
Lending his trademark electro-swing to the vocal jazz of Alice Francis' "Shoot Him Down", master jazzer Parov Stelar drops a club mix that adds bigger beats, as well as that trademark '30s jazz skank, while a more dubby rework comes courtesy of Milk And Sugar.

Review:
Featuring the off-the-chart sax playing of Markus Ecklmayr. D&TS keep firmly on the good foot for this latest album of instrumental funk. Inspired by the legends - JB in particular on "Mentholweed Flash" or Stevie on "Rusty C Balls" - they keep everything as funky as a mosquito's tweeter while Hammond, clavs, raw drums and chanking blues guitars all work in sync.

Review:
Pianos, a breakbeat and a skat-style vocal; sometimes all it takes is a collection of simple ingredients to create a master dish. They're certainly potent enough for La Rochelle to cook up a euphoric roller that tickles all the right party sweet spots. This technique is continued throughout the release; "JayJay" is a track that can't help but conjure memories of Kelis's "Trick Me" with its jaunty, upbeat, infectious skank and sizzle, while "Taxi Girl" writes a new chapter in the great book of piano funk. With a muted trumpet and a happy-slapping house beat, it's like the type of caper Derrick Carter would be up to had he been born in London and not Chicago. Roland Schwarz finishes the package with a remix of "JayJay", adding more oomph to the funk manifesto already branded by La Rochelle.

Review:
Parov Stelar - aka Austrian producer Marcus Fureder - returns with the irresistible electro swing of "Jimmy's Gang", released on his own Etage Noir imprint. The title track is a hip-shaking milieu of sassy horns, dubbed-out vocals and electro-house tinges (synths, floor-ready 4/4 beat). There's a radio edit too and an extended tech house remix from Enzo Siffredi to round things off.

Review:
Etage Noir label-boss Parov Stelar is a master in electro-swing, as he proves yet again on this new three-track EP. "Wanna Fete" is a feast of 30s jazz samples, all wrapped around a tight electro-house beat that's subtle enough not to swamp the jive out of the samples. Same goes with "Diamonds", which keeps brilliantly keeps a heavy ride cymbal rocking that floats over the mix throughout and features some excellent cornet solos along with well-placed scratch breaks. No prizes for guessing the sample source on closer "Le Piaf" - another example of Stelar's skills in fusing that 78" sound with the dynamics needed to rock a modern floor.

Review:
An accomplished blender of styles and sounds, Austrian producer Parov Stelar brings his jazzy electro swing to Part Two of The Princess LP. Opener "Jimmy's Gang" is a perfect example of why he's acquired such a strong fan base of late, with deftly-chopped jazz samples bolstered by simple-yet-effective house beats making for an instantly likable vibe. Away from the sample-heavy tunes, songs like "Sally's Dance" and "Oh Yeah" showcase Stelar's deeper studio skills.

Review:
An accomplished jazz, soul and funk musician from Austria, Parov Stelar has built up a cult following through his retro-tinged productions and full-band performances. Now, after the release of his well-received long players "Coco" and "The Princess", comes a trilogy of remixed album tracks. "Love" gets souped-up into a funky electro-houser with more than a nod to disco titans, Chic. "Oh Yeah" meanwhile gets an infectious Euro-dance makeover that's not a million miles from Cerrone's Noughties hit, "Hysteria".

Review:
Etage Noir label-boss. Austrian musician Parov Stelar is back as part of a duo and has a new sound to boot. Maybe it was the influence of his recent albums that featured remixes of his work, but there's definitely a bigger electronic element than before. Highlights include the Herb Alpert goes to Ibiza-isms of "La Calatrava", the bonkers Daft Punk-goes electro-swing title track, the Dave Brubeck vibes of "Menage A Trois" and the glamorous bluesey-in-places, "At The Flamingo Bar".
