Review:
Since pricking our consciousness at the tail end of 2010, Deep Space Orchestra have rarely failed to impress. Their skill lies in crafting deep house that displays a deep love and knowledge not only of analogue jack tracks, but also the wide-eyed futurism of Detroit techno. "Blindsided", their second single for FOTO, once again ticks these boxes, layering fluid, stargazing melodies and hissing cymbals over a sturdy, analogue deep house groove. It's one of their best to date, we'd wager. The obligatory remixes come from Medlar and Andy Ash. The former's version is typically thick, organ-heavy and woozy, while the latter turns the intricate original into a bumpin' chunk of heady deepness.

Review:
On a quest to keep deep house true to its roots while bringing it into the modern age at the same time, Ooft! are clear in their aims to keep things atmospheric on this new EP on their Foto imprint. Just listen to the haunting tones of "Galaxy High", with its uplifting pads, strings and leads and only the most gentle of rhythmic guides. "Arbitrary" is more solidly built, but still the languid chords rule the day, creating an addictive brew of deep house with a sense of purpose. "LGB" leans towards a more punchy 80s disco tip, but still they can't help making those synths cosmic and seductive enough to duck away from revivalism.

Review:
With a title like The Pitch Down Jamz EP, you know what you're getting: proper head-nodding fodder to get the party started. Label boss Ali Ooft (an old hand at this kind of thing via his contributions to Instruments of Rapture) kicks things off with the delightful "Love & Soulsaving", a reconstructed soul-funk bomb that swings and struts its way towards 105 BPM banger status. La Tuerie's sweet and smoky "Filter" continues on this hypnotic theme, whilst quietly shuffling off towards "erection section" territory. Luvless's "Motion Capture" wanders towards straight deep house grooviness, while Cole Medina evokes memories of his greatest triumphs with the delightfully smacked-out "I Like It", the slowest of the bunch.
