Review:
You've got to love Firepower for their distinct iconography on each release. Matching the sharp focus of the music, their trademark technicolour bass terror is evident in every aspect of their releases. "Bangladesh" is one of a kind; taking a classic tabla and distinctive rapid chant vocals there's an incessant groove which maintains a certain level of unruly funky, no matter how hard the bass gets. "Trippy" takes us much more of a cosmic journey. There's still a whole load of low-end riff mischief, but it's backed with the largest synth hook this side of the cosmos.

Review:
Writhing in the darker side of electro-tinged dubstep that still appeals to the wider EDM ears, Datsik's punching with new gloves, hitting a rich vein of form across the seven cuts. Ranging from the very cheeky title track that's half-time D&B (and comes complete with a massive switch-up after the drop) to a sexier state of slinky glitch ("Juicebox") via his more trademark screaming, swaggering halfstep ("Too Late To Say No"), this might be cold blooded but it beats and bleeps with a heart of bass-bitten gold.

Review:
Firing with the ruthlessness of a hundred hitmen made of titanium bass, US dubstep upstart Getter has taken no prisoners since his early saw-toothed bangers on Ultragore. With screaming - at points harrowing - riffs spitting throughout over pneumatic beats, it's a challenge to pick the darkest track, but the pained stabs of "Clutch" and rip-snorting rifle-like D&B bass burps of "Aggravate" are definitely high up there on the Devil's current iPod playlist. The technicolour trills on "Crack That" are most stimulating, too...

Review:
If you like your dubstep big, bolshy and full of enormous synth wails then look no further than The Frim who provide it with bells on in Bassline Skanka EP on Firepower. First up is the title track which has a distorted robo voice repeating the title, coupled with smashing drum kicks, dramatic mid range belches and plenty of mayhem. "Perfect Score" continues the theme with gratuitous groans and smacks, whilst "Error" ups the 80s computer game vibes and then "Drop It" pairs digeridoo vibes with synth squeals a-plenty. To finish off we have the Getter remix of "Perfect Score".
