Review: Craig Hamilton's Hotbox Sessions EPs seem to be getting stronger with every edition. This third volume boasts six more tried-and-tested house cuts heavily influenced by disco, soul and classic garage. Opener "Lay It Down" chops between a lush, string-laden soul sample and a decidedly bumpin' disco-house groove, while "Watch Out" and "I Want You" deliver two different takes on classic US garage influenced grooviness. "On A High" is deeper, building the action around a smoky organ riff, while "If The Dope Don't Get You The Acid Must" pits a snappy breakbeat-house groove against ragging acid riffs. Finally, "What If You Had To" prioritizes more addictive hooks and rave era stabs.
