Review:
Two's company and three's a crowd, or so they say. Not so with this outfit as Dementia, Rregula and Cain Mos team up here for some seriously nasty D&B on Fokuz, executed with extreme mastery. After the most dramatic of intros, "Imprint" falls into the drop with some force, all turbo charged bass, purposeful synth builds and energy abounding from every beat. "Silverfox" continues the story, with a slightly more melodic approach, bringing in a cheeky tunefulness and a guitar riff playing underneath to create a rock-y edge. Well worth checking out if you like your D&B full of energy.

Review:
Some experimental business from the Fokuz imprint, first from Dispet & Zendi who bring a dark, neurofunk influenced vibe to the table, and secondly from Tobax who focuses on a more ethereal, percussive tip. The aforementioned cut from Dispet & Zendi which kicks things off is "Nanotechnology"; here a tense intro peppered by bleeps, ticks and an eerie sci-fi sound develops into the main part with terse drums, tech-ed up snares and a grouchy, murmuring b-line below. A darkside killer, make no mistake. In contrast, "Fly" makes for something completely different - expect euphoric, dreamy atmospherics, gently ticking beats and sweeping synths.

Review:
Fokuz prove they're no one trick pony with these considerably dark and menacing couple of cuts from Keosz and Trilo. First up is the brooding "Pride" with its razor sharp snares slicing through the darkness, the melancholy instrumentals adding a somber tone throughout and the booming sub bass striking a chord with the heart and mind. This one's a killer - beware! Accompanying this is the equally as ominous "Ahiram" with its clicking beats, gnarly bass and quirky, oriental SFX and moody atmospherics. One of the best things we've seen from Fokuz in some time!

Review:
This latest missive from the Fokuz Ltd camp contains two contrasting cuts, both of which should appeal to those who like their D&B a little different from the norm. Marvel Cinema's "Good People" is suitably touchy-feely, featuring long, drawn-out chords and spinetingling, "Inner City Life"-ish vocals over skittering beats and powerful bass pulses. Atered States' "Switchshift", on the other hand, underpins a fluid, late night lament with a boisterous old jungle break. It's a fusion that works well, suggesting that "Switchshift" could find favour in D&B clubs all over the land.

Review:
The mysterious Nightvision comes correct on the epic Hidden Agenda EP for Fokuz Recordings' offshoot label. With a trio of seriously on point bangers on display here, this producer will be stepping out of the shadows before too long. The title track is all about tough drums and sci-fi synths reminiscent of Matrix & Futurebound at their best. "On The Line" kicks off with a female vocal hook before morphing into a classic slice of melodic future funk and closing track "Too Late" is an excursion into arms-in-the-air territory but keeps the cheese factor to a minimum.

It's time to reach beyond the skies as Flame & Paperclip take a side each on this dreamy EP on Fokuz. "Whom I Belong" sees Russian producer Paperclip marinating his studio in a cauldron of progressive emotion as guitars gently lick the back of the mix, hiding behind an evocative bassline of surging sub low beauty. Flame takes over on "She Knows", a cut coated in the essence of soul thanks to lingering vocals and twinkling pianos. On the right side of epic but loaded with sonic sentiment, both cuts press buttons you didn't even know existed and come replete with their own unique twists.

Review:
An interesting one here from Place 2B & Paimon, who collaborate on the first two tracks of the EP before Paperclip takes over for the final cut. "Quite" is a quirky blend of sweeping atmospherics, purposeful drum kicks and chiming SFX with an oriental guitar strumming a melody. The gentle percussion continues for the duration with big bass warps and a sense of unease permeating throughout. "Magnetic" continues the story with blissed out sounds, trippy, whispering vocals echoing around shuffling breaks and a warm undulating b-line. Paperclip adds his touch with some lush, ethereal D&B with a euphoric tint - all twinkling melodies, murmuring bass and crisp breaks.

Review:
Salaryman steps up with another tidy release on Fokuz with his Secret Memories EP. First up is "Secret Memories" (with Static State) which is a mysterious cut with eerie, echoing SFX and gentle clicking and chiming breaks, underpinned by an enormous rolling b-line. Next is the ominous sounding "The Cesspool" with its tense, ticking intro it falls into another bass rumbling excursion into the unknown, and then last of all is "Gentle Wind" which rounds things off in style with a flurry of gentle, shimmying atmospherics and hollow, reverberating beats. Lovely stuff here.
