Get Some At Juno Download

Review: 19-year old Essex based producer Daniel Shell aka Crypt steps up for the second release on fledgling label Get Some. The self-titled EP pays homage to grime and post-dubstep house fusionists, such as Burial and Falty DL et al. Kicking off with "Sensible Hearts", it's all delicate, clinking SFX, distant echoing vocals, gentle, ticking beats and washed out rhythms. "Miscellaneous", a more upbeat number, is splashed with deep house tones and a dash of Pearson Sound, whilst concluding cut "Fallen Angel" focuses on pitched up, chopped vocal snippets, terse drums and sinuous sounds. Well worth checking.
