Review: This could be a match made in heaven. On one side, rising star Daniel Avery (aka Stopmakingme), on the other, veteran producer, DJ and all round legend Justin Robertson (here appearing under recently-adopted Deadstock 33s pseudonym). Musically, "Nylon Icon" and "New Moon" are typical of Robertson's recent work, offering a dark but addictive fusion of bubbling electronic disco, vintage dark wave synth-pop and analogue house. "Eric Zann Revisited" flips the script slightly, touching on Italo whilst retaining a bouncy electronic groove. Remix wise, there's an acid-flecked tweak of the latter track by Filthy Dukes, whilst People Get Real deliver an off-kilter, cowbell-heavy version of "New Moon".

Review: Gomma lift "Mis Labios" the latest track off Munk's gloriously decadent album The Bird & The Beat, which comes backed with the usual array of suitably fine remixes. There's an undeniable sexiness to the original thanks to the breathy vocal contribution from Joyce Muniz, which rides Modica's own salsa riffs with aplomb. Muniz herself contributes two remixes that realign the track for a tougher crowd - anyone who checked her release for Man Recordings last year will know what to expect. Further reason to investigate comes in the form of a shimmering disco refix from Black Van that provides one of the better recent examples of how to use the vocoder wisely.

Review: Ahead of the release of his 100 Gomma mix CD, Parisian-in-London Jerry Bouthier presents a selection of the 26 exclusive edits he's done for the compilation. There are four edits to choose from, most confusingly of remixes rather than the original tracks! Review: Gomma's Telonius follows previous gems like "Last Night" and "Now" with the pared-down grooves of "Out", which recalls the deep disco skills of Todd Terje, Joakim and Lindstrom with some added house sparkle thrown in. Belgian hero Ramon Tapia does a great job on his own mix, stripping right down to the original's shuffling keys and some gloriously jacking hats.

Review: There's a lot to be said for a song that manages to crowbar the word "masturbate" into its first rhyming couplet. Amazingly, this Manhead-ish discofunk/punk-funk groover from cheeky chappy Telonious does just that, weaving talk of delirious self-abuse into fuzzy, electric-bass driven song about getting your end away as it's the last night on earth. It should be sleazy, but it's actually a lot of fun (and, in a strange way, oddly hilarious). Remix-wise, Art of Tones offers a pair of chunky deep house rubs, while Ricardo Fonzuela offers something dark but uplifting for European dancefloors.
