Review: Superbly funky stuff from UK duo Pirate Soundsystem, who have previously rejigged the likes of Drop The Lime, Wiley and Bonde Do Role as well as dropping key releases like the Trip II London EP. Lead tune "Bashy Bashy" was previously featured on DJ Hero 2, and its bassline-meets-garage vibe is given a new lease of life here thanks to a fresh vocal from dancehall queen Lady Chann on the rechristened "Run Run". A carnival-esque anthem in the making, this will find favour with fans of Douster, Sinden and Diplo, as will "Jericho", a defiantly funky banger replete with whistle-samples, soca snares and a huge dollop of electro womp.

Review: Fun fact: Piri Piri got his name from a bet with the boss of Nandos. Not only did he bag himself an easy-to-remember name, but he also bagged himself a highly sought after Nandos Gold Card! Very impressive. But nowhere near as impressive as this rather tight double-track release. "Easy Blessings" is a deep ride into UKG and UKF territory with switchy beats, warm subs and chords so mournful they could actually make a car cry. "Eizo" is a more full-frontal affair with that opens with almost two minutes of percussion before we drop into some very serious Amen-riddled bashment. What a tease!
