Review:
Remember Deep Dish's "Flash Dance"? Did you like it? If the answer is yes to both of those questions then jump on this one immediately. And once you've jumped up and down on the release, please proceed to jump and down with excitement... Just like your dancefloor will when you drop it. With a punchy, punctuated kick, a gritty-but-graceful electro hook and an infectious guitar-strumming chorus, this is already causing rather shocking behaviour on various holiday islands at the moment... Take one listen and hear why yourself. Quintessential hands-in-the-air science. Get busy...

The one-time Artful Dodger continues his comeback in style, releasing a slick newie via cocktail-house megabrand Hed Kandi. Smoother than most of Artful's new material, "Can You Feel It", is a laidback back affair, with gentle funk guitar and soulful male vocals. Perfect for popping those corks and getting those flutes clinking. Co-collaborator Ridney provides a thumpin' loop and bass heavy remix that recalls the heady days of French Touch.

Review:
Production team and house-masters ASBO return with this huge new tune for Hed Kandi - joined by prolific vocalist Katherine Ellis, whose power-lungs have graced the productions of Roger Sanchez, Freemasons and Meat Katie. Here, electro-funky beats, soulful keys and organs get wrapped around Ellis' incredible tones for a perfect party starter, while Stefano Noferini reduces the lot into a bubbly mainroom worker that's destined to be a huge summer jam for DJs. Soul Avengerz however concentrate on the soulful side of things, working in a biblical breakdown that puts Ellis' vocal centre stage which eventually drops into an enormous piano riff.

Hed Kandi are the folks behind this latest hook-up between two house producers tipped for big things. Kaeser and Stonebridge join with vocalist Krista Richards to create something huge and Ibiza-shaped on their original, while mixes from Big Room, Garrett & Ojelay, Ricard & Roos Frisko all extend the house grooves for a deeper treatment. Look out especially for Matt Waro and Simon Sim's excellently abrasive mix on this release too.

This year cocktail-house mega-brand, Hed Kandi, have been celebrating ten years of throwing parties in Ibiza. Resident DJ and A&R man Carl Hanaghan has said that by far, the label's biggest tune of the summer has been this one. One listen and you can see why; packed full uplifting piano, catchy vocals and filtered breakdowns, it's literally bursting with sunshine. Hanaghan handles the remixes duties himself, keeping the most anthemic elements of the original while opting for a deeper, more progressive vibe throughout.

An updated version of Big Time Charlie's 90s filter-fest house anthem of the same name, Hed Kandi's Slider and Anton Liss smash it with this new treatment, featuring not only original vocalist Snoozy Q but also traces of Chic's "My Forbidden Lover" in there too. Among a wide-range of remixes, David Jones brings it down to a tense piano breakdown, while DJ Renat uses the classic Chic bassline to bring it home. There's also a Balearic dub version included for a more stretched-out, sun-kissed alternative.

Glistening funky/vocal house from Eddie Kid and singer Gia Mellis on this newie from Hed Kandi. With a commanding vocal and a percussive piano underscoring it, it's built for late-night bliss and features a couple of killer deep-filter/white-noise breakdowns to keep you locked into the grooves.

Review:
George FitzGerald first came onto our radar last year with superb "The Let Down/Weakness". Here he makes a welcomed return to the airwaves and a bright start to 2011 with his next release on Scuba's ever-exciting Hotflush imprint, backed with an edit from the man himself on the flip. Two-step meets future garage in the title track with a repeated Ramadanman style vocal punctuating the beats and rolling, undulating b-line below. Enticing and insatiably good, this certainly whets the appetite for more to come from the hotly tipped producer this year. Over on the flip Scuba dons his SCB alias for a pared down version of the original, which will leave Berghain veterans drooling. Big.

A new addition to Hed Kandi's roster, Digital Newcastle resident Felix Leiter drops a taste of what's to come with this instrumental version of the thumb-piano rocking mainroom sounds of "Sky High". Using everything at his disposal to ensure maximum hands-in-the-air euphoria, Leiter swaps the subtle thumb-piano tones for huge electro chords on the breakdowns before ushering the beats back in with aplomb. Expect a vocal version and some brand new remixes soon.

Garrett and Ojelay team up for a brace of peak time jams on the ever prolific Hed Kandi. Both "Daze Of Disco" and "Do It Right" are primed for use in sweaty dens with oversized speaker stacks, with the judicious filtering and breakdowns on the former a nice counterpoint to the French touch meets tech house vibe of the latter.

Gleaming funky prog on this new release from Hed Kandi, as Glitterati set about creating a perfect mix of poppy-trance stabs, filtered builds and driving mainroom drums on "Global Connection". Definitely one that'll raise the roof in the middle of any funky-tech set, this is pure Hed Kandi goodness from start to finish.
GREG STAINER feat ROLAND CLARK
HK 162EP1
20 Aug 12 Funky/Club House
Review:
You can't really go wrong with one of Roland's 'I Get Deep' Clark's sermons. Well, Greg Stainer certainly hasn't... Ironing out an elastic, boompty house groove as Roland waxes lyrical about the need for house music and the necessity of parties, this type of well-polished funky house can't fail to work. If you need some added 'oomph' then head for HausJacker and Nicki Myers remix; removing the comfortable slinky bassline and replacing with something more edgy and jacking, it's a fine complement to Greg and Roland's original. As is Andrew Phillips' cowbell heavy rub for that matter. A very strong release for the Kandi crew.

What a name. What a moustache (look him up). What a tune. Emerging artists Jaxx Da Fishworks is what we call in the industry a triple threat. A homage to the highly acclaimed European festival, "Tomorrowland" is a heavy pumpfest complete with striking synths and some powerful vocals from Krista that sexily sit just on the right side of diva. With a high impact build and well weighted groove there are very few situations you couldn't fail with this. But just in case there are two remixes that cater for deeper and more stompworthy scenarios.
JOHN JONES feat MYSS WORD

Review:
"Be Together", the already quite anthemic Hed collaboration betwixt John Jones and Myss World from early last year gets embellished with yet more big room potential via this pair of remixes from The Str8jackets. Commencing with the Medicated rub, the London trio present a nicely paced tweak that constantly builds, with some euphoric trance synths slowly rising to fore to work in tandem with Myss World's voice. The Asylum rub provides more punch, implementing several layers of synth stabs and multiple breakdowns for optimum effect.

Back after last year's huge "Out Of Love" release, Jonni Black is again on top form for Hed Kandi with the funky house of "Move On". Rocking a chanking disco guitar loop along with some live sounding drums, it's a fresh and fun mover, topped off with a huge soulful vocal for good measure. For more of a late-night rerub, Hannu & Stephanie Jay bring in the electro keys and white-noise builds on both their mixes included here.
