Review: Beat Gates delivers a scintillating four-tracker on the Inform imprint which is full of lilting melodies, deftly placed beats and shimmying SFX. Opening with the murmuring, cinematic intro of "Underground Sunset", it's all urbane sultriness before we are led into "Mellove" with its pared down soundscape and booming sub bass. Next is "Lessons Of Life" which takes a didactic tone but is actually full of chirruping melodies and sweet harmonies. Bringing things to a delightful close is "Dream Trip" with its hazy atmospherics and drifting rhythms.

Review: Arriving just in the nick of time to soundtrack London's (no doubt short lived) heatwave, D&B imprint Inform drop this six track Summer Selection features smooth, refined cuts from the likes of Soul Connection, Kasper, Pennygiles and Mr Joseph & Imagery. It's the latter pair who impress most with the silky sax-led liquid roller "Too Late", although Kasper's half-stepper "Zealous" and Soul Connection's dubby "Losers" are both well worth checking too.
