Review:
On the evidence of Janice & Cakes, it sounds like Jorns Montag was weaned on a strict diet of electro. Despite this, this eight-tracker covers a wide range of styles. From the trashy, pulsing bass and androgynous vocals of "Keep Care" and the glitchy, drum-heavy "Aufstieg Abwaerts", to the infectious, pulsing groove and deadpan vocals of "Someone to Someone" - which sounds like Montag's response to Bangkok Impact's "Junge Dame" - and the Alden Tyrell-esque, high-paced Italo of "Hit Back", he has most bases covered. The only thing lacking is a proper 808-style jam or two, but when you have a track as stunningly beautiful as the melodic title track, such omissions are irrelevant.
