Review:
After recently impressing with an EP of techno-inspired electronic oddness on Items & Things, Tomas Moore pops up on Kill The DJ. This time, he's set his sights on defying the conventions of nu-disco. Given the paucity of quality in the genre of late, it's a worthy gesture. All four tracks here are curiously wonky, sidestepping norms in a flurry of late night synths, hissing cymbals and boozy beats. "The Invisible Thread" sounds like smacked-out acid house for the disco generation, while "Moonlighting" shuffles along like an old man off his nut on Ketamine. More ends with "Hurricane" best described as Chris Carter's "Moonlight" reinvented for Parisian hipsters.
