Review: Carlos Nino and the Build An Ark Ensemble are back with the companion long player to last year's Love LP. Part 2 is primarily taken from the same recording sessions and shares the same spiritual musical palette of sounds. These are deep and lush jazzual improvised arrangements ala Alice Coltrane with touches of psyche folk on "Say Yes" and elongated solo drum pieces of "Cadence Of The Love Messengers". Dynamic vocal cover versions exist in the improvised shapes of 'What The World Needs Now Is Love' and the gently subdued yet powerful version of "Tryin Times" made famous by Roberta Flack.

Review: A Dutch Afro-beat band who have attracted the high praise of former Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen amongst others, Jungle By Night's second album sees the band continue to explore deep textures and fascinating poly-rhythms on songs like "Togetherness", "Night Fight" and "The Past Is History". Review: Taking the spiritual and heavenly jazz of the KSE and remaking it in his own special distinctive way, Dutch producer Tom Trago does wonders with this highlight from their Love Is Supreme album. The vocal mix uses Pete Philly's soulful vocals to embellish Trago's house meets nu-jazz beats. The mixes are worth it alone for the heart-stopping choir that gets looped and layered over the track, a truly beautiful sound and one so rarely heard over beats. The dub will prove to be a real favourite for DJs also. Fans of Fourtet and St. Germain will definitely feel this release. Top stuff.

Review: An alias of Dutch producer Legowelt, this four track release under the name Nacho Patrol is a weird and wonderful revelation. A deliberate exploration of African modes from a house and techno perspective yields some truly original and futuristic results. While some tunes like "Twinotters" have a conventional nu-disco beat, they're still layered with an adventurous palette of different textures and sounds that rarely get fused together. "Africa Space Program" switches things around though, keeping the groove strictly Afrobeat but with some techno touches incorporated into the melody. A true one off that seriously deserves your attention, let's hope more material like this surfaces soon.

Review: A re-release of Dutch duo Rednose Distrikt's 2004 album, as well as some cheeky new exclusives. From the previously unreleased opener "Gotta Make A Move" featuring Lady Alma's dulcet tones, it's a future-jazz masterpiece with delicately arranged broken beats punching through a mix of screwed up synths. Like Herbie Hancock's Headhunters jamming on Ableton, there's a chaotic collision of old and new and with some extra remixes from Domu and DJ Spinna also included, it's well worth giving a spin.
