Review: Raised on the teachings of techno luminaries Giorgio Gigli, Donato Dozzy and Dino Sabatini, a new wave of promising Italian producers are emerging. P GOD (real name Paolo Dioguardi) now takes up ranks alongside accomplished new school producers Conrad Van Orton, Ascion and D.Carbone, and here his latest offering maintains the outer worldly narratives previously seen on EPs for Labrynth and M_Rec. Demonic Jean Michel Jarre pads to and fro between Jeff Mills inspired sonar blips on "Approaching An Ocean Planet" while "Geometric Shadows On Iced Surfaces" burrows deeper inside P GOD's newly discovered landscape, facilitated by cutting 909 hats and stuttering percussion. P GOD's effective use of the 909 is best highlighted on the EP's title track, where locust-like chatter surrounds the amphibious drones heard throughout the release, fusing together three tracks laced with narrative flow and emotive content.

Review: Following on from mystery man SP-X's thundering Field Lines, Van Hoesen delivers his second EP for Komisch. The title track and the EP generally mark a shift of sorts for the affable Belgian techno producer, and a lighter touch is audible throughout. That said, "North 6th" shares Peter's love of system-shuddering basslines and its sinewy, surging tones provide support for eerie chords, snappy percussion and a more swinging rhythm than usual. "Desay Duty" is heavier and more utilitarian; its beats are lead weight and a framework of glitchy percussion unravels itself against this relentless backdrop - yet despite this, an underlying sense of swing sets it apart from the slew of fist-clenching purist techno.

Review: The mysterious Komisch label has been one of the most consistent techno stamps of recent years, and "Field Lines" will serve to enhance its reputation. Like SP-X's debut, the focus here is on insistent, bass-heavy club techno, functional club tracks that nonetheless resonate at a deeper level. "Field Construction" starts with crackling interference and lithe percussion seeking to restrain a runaway juggernaut rhythm. However, SP-X quickly ramps up the intensity levels using insistent filters and distorted riffs. A similar approach prevails on "Internalize", but without the sonic foreplay, as a muffled filter builds unflinchingly over a nasty acid line. Finally, "Flux" piles on the pressure, its rock hard beats underpinning a howling siren that brings the release to an inevitable but thrilling finale.

Review: The third release on Komisch sees the mysterious producer deliver his trademark warehouse techno sound, but with a twist. Lead track "The Escape" reveals a more musical side to SP-X than usual, with eerie riffs and robotic bleeps creeping in over his razor sharp percussion and thumping drums. SP-X also makes reference to musical elements on the title track, with an epic chord sequence building over a slamming, piledriving rhythm and in the background an eerie synth lingers. However, any such concessions disappears promptly on "Attack Pattern': as his relentless drums build and build, he lets loose with a gurgling acid line that brings to a head SP-X's most merciless track so far.

Review: Following a string of impressive releases, up and coming producer The Parallel comes in for Komisch's third release. Spacey textures, intricate claps, snaps and hi-hats are bent and distorted throughout "Abyss". "Mind Reverse" picks the tempo up before the dream-like "Nanotech" and the mellowed out title track.
