Review: Named after an 80s French cartoon, this single is the product of Turkish producer Alico and his shady cohort, Cagri. The tune is a straight-up salad of vintage Eurodisco with lashings of Italo dressing. Evoking the likes of 'Droid' by Mito, Vangelis and anything by Hipnosis, this laconic sprawling synth-fest is saved from total retroville by a crisp modern electro-house bounce. Best of the remixes here are the more percussive Ray Mang mix and the slo-mo italo/Balearic workout of A Copycat and Martin Brodin's version.

Review: Martin Brodin's Swedish nu-disco label MB drop their latest bomb and it typically sounds like it could have been made yesterday... or indeed back in 1984. Copycat specialises in disco with Italo, Balearic and electro leanings and it's the former that comes to the fore on the title track. Evoking images of fresh suntans, pastel Armani suits and cocktails, "Can You Feel It" is a glamorous and laidback fantasy. "Just My Imagination Talking" is a cheeky nod to Imagination's 'Body Talk' and finally "It's Like A Dream" ends things on a spacey, electro-funk high.

Review: Swedish producer Copycat has enjoyed an interesting career to date, first impressing with a series of unlikely bootleg mash-ups and punkish electro tracks before moving on to more serious-minded compositions. Here he pops up on Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint with a breezy fusion of Balearic piano solos and Moroder-ish electro-disco bottom end. It's simultaneously tough, chunky and impossibly sunny. Fast-rising Brooklyn studio boffin Lou Teti draws out the track's more Balearic elements on a laidback disco rub that seemingly shuffles from the speakers like an old man on smack. Ajello, meanwhile, turns "Disco Thang" into a twinkling acid house/nu-disco crossover.

Review: When it comes to jaunty, melodic nu-disco, few labels are quite as consistent as Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint. Here, he's unearthed another sunshine-fresh nugget from previously unknown Belgian artist Fusty Delights. "We Hold It" sounds like Aeroplane after a bumper dose of valium, all twittering synths, grandiose breakdowns and casual pop vocals. There's a solid remix package to devour, too, with Cosmonauts delivering a chunkier rub that should appeal to all those who like their grooves twisted and electronic. Elsewhere, Pleasure Machines deliver the obligatory 'nu-Balearic' version, slowing the pace and adding even more shimmering synth hooks.

Review: Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint continues its Giorgio Moroder remix project, with a second set of revisions of seminal disco track "E=MC2". Of the six versions on show this time, the breakneck arpeggio of the A Copycat remix had us suitably hypnotised, while the slow-mo electrofunk of the Divide & Kreate version is worth checking for the impressive vocal tweakage alone!

Review: Back on its original release, Munich man Moroder's E=MC2 was marketed as the first album to be recorded entirely digitally. Here, the largely forgotten title track gets another airing thanks a bunch of new remixes from European disco producers new and old. Alexander Robotnik leads the charge with a version that evokes memories of his classic early 80s material, while ILS gleefully fuses classic Italo sounds with contemporary house rhythms. The odd but attractive No More Klein & MBO version sounds like a mash-up between "E=MC2" and "Dirty Talk", whilst Rodion lays down some contemporary electro-disco with just enough cheeky analogue bump. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a chiming, retro-futurist rework from Baldelli and Dionigi.

Review: Last time out Swede Martin Brodin re-made Newcleus' electro classic "Jam On It", requisitioning Chicken Lips to deliver a remix too. This time round, he's turned his attention to another electronic classic: Giorgio Moroder's instrumental Euro disco anthem, "The Chase". Of the two mixes on offer, it's the "Dubbed Out" version that impresses most. Unlike Brodin's fairly faithful "Remix", it transports the track to previously uncharted territory, twisting and tweaking the famous melody in thrilling new directions. There are cowbells aplenty, D Train style synth funk touches and a general air of dancefloor madness that screams "play me". You'd be a fool not to.

Review: Deeplay Music boss man Martin Brodin launches his new MB Disco imprint with Croatian disco deity Ilija Rudman the object of some remix treatment on the inaugural release. Lifting Rudman's "See" from the Deeplay archives Brodin embellishes the track with a burning boogie strut, with overdubbed synth lines the melodic backdrop to filtered vocals and a chuggy beat. The ever mysterious Drop Out Orchestra opt for a more traditional NYC Disco flavour on their remix with low slung bass and rhythm licks in abundance amidst the glittering flourishes. With subsequent releases from the likes of Newcleus, Ray Mang and Giorgio Moroder on the horizon, Brodin's imprint is certainly one to look out for.

Review: Since ditching his deep house inclined Deeplay label a couple of years back, Swedish producer Martin Brodin has enjoyed a new lease of life as a maker of typically Scandinavian nu-disco. Here he continues to explore the Scandolearic end of nu-disco with the emphatically melodic "Badabing". In many ways its typical Brodin, all vintage synths, touchy-feely slo-mo grooves and yearning riffs, with just enough solid back end to keep dancefloor happy. Norwegian producer Diskjokke provides the obligatory remix, turning in an apocalyptic psychedelic disco rework that breathlessly builds via waves of organs, moody bass and twinkling pianos. As remixes go, it's pretty special.

Review: Taken from the forthcoming album by this excellent Swedish disco don, whose originals and remix work have been hammered by the likes of Aeroplane, The Revenge and Tensnake, "Strings Attack" pits funk guitars, low Moog basslines and the titular strings against each other on a midtempo nu-disco monster. Remixes from Robi Insinna & Headman and Ilya Santana add a bit more of a tech sheen to the original, without losing any of the glorious analogue groove.

Review: Following a conversion to nu-disco from deep house, Swedish producer Martin Brodin has been busy knocking releases that feature elements of both. Here he tackles Bryan Ferry's sublime mid 80s Balearic classic "Don't Stop The Dance". With Mikael Surdi providing his best Ferry-style croon, this version features a funky guitar lick and squelchy, arpeggiated synths. However it's LeSale's stripped back sun kissed version that's the winner on this EP.

Review: Following two sneaky remix singles, Former Deeplay boss and top Swedish beard Martin Brodin join forces with Dumb Dan. The result is "Gamma Ray", an expansive slice of Scando-learic disco that just shimmers with melodic wizardry. While the original is solid enough, it's the remixes that really hit the spot. Both the "Balearic Phased Out Mix" and "Balearic Mix" are dripping with mid-tempo goodness. At a slower tempo, the original's spiralling riffs have much more room to breathe, giving them a deliciously hypnotic quality. Rodion impresses with his remix, too, adding all manner of disco strings and Italo magic to drag "Gamma Ray" kicking and screaming towards more sophisticated dancefloors.

Review: Having recently offered up reworks of classic Giorgio Moroder material, Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint turns to Mike Salta for some original disco grooves. Ironically, Salta's original actually sounds like the result of an unlikely jam session between Mororder, Gino Soccio and nu-Balearic/nu-disco studio bod Peter Visti. It's perhaps fitting, then, that Visti himself provides a remix that balances Salta's pleasing melodies and sun-flecked touches (check the breakdown) with twisted, acid-flecked bottom end. The best reworks, though, come from Swedish production crew Drop Out Orchestra. Both the Dub and Rework (the latter nearly 14-minutes long) offer low-slung electric bass, heady melodies and, crucially, superb percussion.
