Review: French disco original Cerrone (best known for the joyously camp and ludicrously epic "Supernature") has been reworking and remixing many of his 70s originals recently. This single-track download release features an updated version of a long-forgotten vocal banger from his largely overlooked 1980 LP Cerrone VII. While Cerrone has made some questionable tunes in his time, "Took Me So Long" was always a bit of a slept-on disco stomper, and this version is pleasingly faithful to the Jocelyn Brown-sung 1980 original. Sure, the beats are a bit tougher, but otherwise it's pretty faithful - rubbery bassline, soaring strings and all.
