Review:
Back with his first release since his Cope album of last year, Adam Freeland continues on his journey beyond breakbeat into electro house with this stomping, almost Balearic tune on Marine Parade. Built around an enormous and distorted 16-bar riff, Freeland brings the tune up around it, adding some Italo touches as he does it. Ettienne De Crecy steps in on the remix side to give it a "Rollin' and Scratchin'" feel, while Om Unit takes a rare chill-pill on his mix, adding a laidback and funky vibe to the drums which sets it apart with style.

Review:
Relatively quiet since their 2008 album They Live!, Brighton duo Evil Nine are back with this supercharged single featuring South African vocalist Spoek Mathambo. Stepping away from their breakbeat roots (though still on Adam Freeland's Marine Parade label), "No Manners" is a huge scoop of full-fat electro very much in the Justice/Ed Banger mould. String hits and tightly clipped drums dominate on the single, combined with some distorted chords and some huge rushing crescendos. It's infectious stuff, similar in vibe to Plastic Little's rhymes over Herve's Cheap Thrills imprint.
Remixes come from Dublin duo Arveene and Misk, who've recently been getting attention for their mixes of Mr. Oizo and Felix Da Housecat's mighty Kickdrum amongst others. Using the vocal sparingly, they transform the original's jerky beat into a flat out stomper, using some nicely off the wall bass sounds to give it a harder, pumping vibe. Italian Dj Dannoso also weighs in with his first ever remix, chopping the vocals up cleverly and laying down a scintillating acid beat underneath the original's swooping string hits. There's even a breakdown with some distinctively gothic organ parts which make Dannoso's mix thoroughly unique. A nice change of direction for Evil Nine, backed up by some solid electro reworkings.

Review:
Legend has it this was an unsolicited remix sent to Freeland's Marine Parade label, and to our ears it's a near faultless update of the 2003 hit "We Want Your Soul", with robo-voiced verses and chanted choruses laid over a thick and crunchy electro beat by Aussie tech-heads Trumpdisco. Anyone that's heard their remakes of Fake Blood, Boy 8-Bit, Fatboy Slim and more will know they're masterful at putting a glitchy spin on things, and here, they break down the vocals into a giddy blur at points before launching straight back in with the beats. A perfect crossover for breaks and electro fans, this is destined to be huge.
