Review:
Med School signed Joe Syntax comes through with his strongest work to date. The Modus Bass Fun EP is a six-track offering kicking off with the title track, which is all punchy drums and a catchy bass riff. Next is "Mogadishu"; a low-slung bassline killer and "Red Zone" - another dancefloor-driven smasher featuring whirring SFX, grinding bass and dark, techy atmospherics. Quirky "Macro Man" ups the ante with trademark Syntax percussion, whilst "Pull It" chops up a ragga vocal and pairs it with an air horn synth line and rolling subs. Concluding cut "Bassline Sinker" rounds things off with accelerating synth wail. Immense and a must buy!

Review:
Medical Mix is the brand new compilation album from Med School Music, mixed by the young D&B prodigy and Med School signing Joe Syntax. Featuring a cross section of the Med School back catalogue and 7 unreleased VIPs and remixes from the likes of Enei, Icicle, S.P.Y, Joe Syntax and more, "Medical Mix" is a must buy for any committed D&B fan. The experimental offshoot of Hospital is celebrating its 6th birthday this year and this album acts as a culmination of their success to date. Absolutely essential - 33 tracks at a bargain price with some digital exclusives into the bargain.

Review:
Following the footsteps of 2010's New Blood 010 and 2011's New Blood 011, 2012 heralds the arrival of a brand new compilation from Med School Music. "Blood Pressure" brings together brand new, up-and-coming talent in the D&B, dubstep and 2-step realm, alongside more familiar names such as Blu Mar Ten, Synkro and Submerse, plus the Med School family - Joe Syntax, Unquote, Bop and Lung. Particular standouts from across the 18-track selection include Submerse's superb "Always, Like This" and Joe Syntax, Eleven8 and Lung's "Red Rhythm". Fresh new flavours from across the spectrum here.

Review:
The New Blood series have been a showcase of consistent growth and musicianship within Hospital Record's sister label Med School - a label set up to give intelligent, intricate and underground electronic music a platform from which to shout. Previous years have seen the inclusion of now household names sitting alongside equally talented but lesser-known artists, each release offering the best in new, breakthrough bass-driven dance music. From the outset of Anile's haunting "Another year" to Barefoot's chilled dubstep in "Rising & Falling"; rising star Etherwood's beautiful "Unfolding" to Mr Sizef's crisp electronics in "The Second Before Snow Turns Into Water", this LP has all the Med School hallmarks fans will be searching for. Worth a purchase to simply to hear something outside of the ordinary. Long live Med School.

Review:
Med School kicks back with release number 30 from a new artist on the roster, the up and coming talent that is Villem. This is a mighty 6-track EP featuring collabs with Fields and Mako; kicking off with the title track "Shimmer" it's all mellifluous rhythms, experimental shimmying flavours and deep wonky hip-hop vibes a-plenty. "Discordia" is the first collab with Fields - experimental and haunting with a kind of old Joy Orbison meets George Fitzgerald sentiment somehow. "Azura" continues this narrative with warping bass sounds and delicate SFX while "Artifacts" switches things up with pattering beats and bongo drums, before the heavy, late 90s tech-ed up "Poly" rounds things off in style.
