Review:
Sometimes self-releasing can be the best way forward for up and coming artists. While there's always a chance that your tunes will sink without trance or get overlooked, if they do well labels will quickly come calling. This is, we assume, the hope of UK funky producer Mr Solo. Here he drops a "relick" of his own "Broken" on, you guessed it, his own self-titled imprint. With bulbous bottom end and shuffling, tropical-inspired rhythms contrasting beautifully with woozy pads and bittersweet melodies, "Broken (Relick)" should appeal to both post-dubstep bassheads and confirmed UK Funky fans.

Review:
Still rolling on the self-release flex, Mr Solo seems unstoppable at the moment. Good for him! And good for us, too; he's a veritable source of rather sterling bass-bitten UK funky. Here we have three tracks, each one exploring a different area of the dance. "I Found You" is very much like the old 4/4 UKG of its day - striking, stark and coated in a menacing bass vibe. "Signs", meanwhile, is far more uplifting as it rocks away on a crisp and vibrant piano hook. "Standby" brings us to a grand conclusion with some expert wobbles. Another solid three-packer from man who rolls Solo.
