Review:
Bader is one of the best contemporary house producers, and he proves his mettle on Shades. "Super Bell" sees heavy drums and hissing percussion providing the basis for a seductive French vocal that insinuates itself in and out of the rhythm track, accompanied sporadically by chiming bells. "Rabbit Noise" is more upfront and functional, with tough drums and a rippling bassline underscoring slivers of trancey synths, while "Way to Mexico" follows a similar path, but the focus is on the interplay between muffled vocals and building chords. Completing the package, label owner Matthias Tanzmann also delivers a slamming, percussive take on "Super Bell".

Review:
Danish minimalist Martinez is already an integral part of Leipzig's Moon Harbour imprint. Having already released three EPs for the label, including his 2008 debut and recent jam, Cheesecake," the talented producer has become an important label ambassador at live dates across the world. Now, he delivers his first LP for the imprint, and his third album overall. The aptly titled Paradigm Shift sees Martinez assimilate an abundance of deep house references into his usual palette of minimal and techno. Alongside lush moments of deepness such as the inimitable "Lavender Mist" and polished "Maresias," Martinez treats us to the warm and contented sounds of "Gourmet". Intertwining the record with bursts of funk laden electronics, such as "Solaris," "Kamino" and "Mr Decocco," Martinez is also explosive at all the right times: "Damaged Color's" slinky low bass and the driving beat of "Williamsburg" both point to a more club focused angle, giving the record yet more amiable balance.

Review:
This remix package of Martinez tracks runs through a wide range of styles and in doing so reflects the diverse nature of Moon Harbour's own catalogue. At one end of the spectrum there's the disco-led Nightmares On Wax-style beats of Luna City Express' version of "Lavender Mist", while at the other there's the stripped back, jacking rhythm of Michael Melchner's version of "Thought Patterns". In between these two extremes are Alex Celler's rolling tribal take on "Kamino" and best of all, the deep pads and stepping rhythms of Livio & Roby's reshape of "Damaged". It's a release tailored for all moods and persuasions.
