Review:
Bringing some ghetto swagger to Moveltraxx, juke originator DJ Earl has since moved on to a more linear kind of electro construction on this new EP, but the lurid vocal hooks ensure this feels like a direct descendent of Dance Mania. It's just that here the tracks are fattened out with brazen synths like the 16-bit workout of "Time" or the uproarious snarl that drives "Up Up N Away". There are other moods at work too, such as on the strange blue-note vibe that tempers the rapid samples of "Does Real Good" and the jazz rip up "Miles Away", but all the way through the energy stays at its peak through the dextrous patterns and arrangements.

Review:
The French were on to the sounds of juke and footwork well before the sound really took hold in the UK, and Moveltraxx have been pushing their own particular taste for the jagged sample loops and nagging drum machines for some four years. This compilation finds DJ Earl in fearsome form, with a nasty vocal getting rowdy with a siren screech of a synth. EQ Why takes things on a deeper level with some moody keys, but it's 'Clent's Knee Deep' that really kills it with a killer slice n' dice of Funkadelic's '(Not Just) Knee Deep'.

Review:
If you're an aspiring DJ or producer, naming yourself after one of the world's most popular club DJs might not prove such a smart move. But then again, with "Beat'n Down Yo Block", this other Tiga has delivered an impressive club banger that fuses epic string stabs, hype footwork rhythms and some great chant-a-longs. Across the further four tunes included we also get the bass-laden, italo-disco sampling trap of "Take Control", the stabby ghettotech of "Start It Up", booty bass -meets-70s flower child-isms of "Lovin You" and some head noddin' gangsta vibes on "Zip & A Double Cup".

Review:
If you're going to release an extended EP of remixes, at least make them varied. That's the approach Moveltraxx have wisely taken with this collection of reworks of tracks from Ezekiel's 2012 digi-only EP "Life Begins At Night". There's certainly plenty of curveballs, from the booming, cut-up dubstep exploits of Eloq's mix of "Drop Ur Ass" and Branko's pad-laden slow jam revision of "Short Shorts", to the synth-boogie-goes-B'more tweak of "Irreversible" from Pacheko. Then there's XS's odd fusion of acid and ket-addled drugginess on his quirky take on "Drop Ur Ass", and a borderline camp disco/UK funky tweak of the same track by Big Dope P. Something for everyone, then.

Review:
French label Moveltraxx have been knocking out top-notch releases spanning tropical bass, moombahton, juke, trap and classic house for years. This one, by new Polish trio, HHP is no exception. "What You Need" is deep and slammin' vintage-style New York garage, where Dennis Edwards 1984 classic Don't Look Any Further gets heavily reworked indeed! Their Boiler Room track, "Stevie Wonders" is a cheeky, lively number in which the great Kate Bush gets chopped up to within an inch of her life to amusing effect. However it's the moody, Pump Up The Jam-style "1 Wants 2" and the haunted bass-house of "Vanish" are the real gems here!

Review:
Four tunes, three versions of each... There's nothing lazy about this about this Lazy Flow EP. And with such a wide range of styles and visions on offer, there's nothing not to like, too. "Catastropha", for example, is an outright Balkan jazz fest that nods at Riva and Noze's work a few years back. The remixes, however, couldn't be different; Martelo's take is a stripped back spooky shuffler while Boogaloo adds a turbo house vibe that wouldn't have gone amiss on the legendary Subliminal back in the day. This pattern is reflected throughout the EP with selected highlights coming from Kill Light (distorted DirtyBird bass trouble) and Djago (sexy tribal tech house).

"Talladega"... Surely a headnod to the Will Farrell film? Either way, this will shake and bake any floor that crosses its path. Riding with a simple-but-effective riff, it's your quintessential filtered house joint that looks both back and forward. The remixes are an interesting spread, too; Don Rimini accentuates the riff for something a little more contemporary, Moonbootica adds vocal-harmonised synth weirdness to the riff, making it an altogether trippier sensation but the prize for best rub goes to Big Dope P's sleazy Baltimore/crunk reversion. Wow.

Review:
Combining with house duo Tony Saputo and Maurice Tamraz (aka J Paul Getto), the living legend that is Todd Terry issues two new mighty house bombs on MovelTraxx - the incredibly jacking "Controversy" edit "Wash The Window", which chops and dices the Purple one deftly, and the brass-laden old school thrust of "The Sure Shot". Straight-up gold for funky house jocks of any persuasion.
