Review:
Nang proffer another fully stacked release - with No Logo the new project of Ibiza fixture Pete Gooding and Steve Miller aka chill out stalwart Afterlife. The first fruits borne of their new endeavour are the decidedly bossa centric thrills of "Party Animal" which is characterized by the suitably breathy vocal turn from Gallic singer Marion Benoist. Given the jazzy leanings of the source its little surprise the accompanying remixes vary in tone to quite a degree. Disco heads will no doubt be drawn towards the refix from Argentinean residing Toomy Disco, with a cowbell heavy groove embellished by one of the Romanian's best basslines to date. Gooding aims for the beachside bars on his effort whilst Andy Mowatt positions his remix for the terraces! The ever impressive Sioux City Boys win out however with a glitchy house refix that is reminiscent of the Electric Chair anthem "4 x 3" from Capoeira Twins.

Review:
Pizzico Records boss Billy Bogus transfers to London nu-disco titans Nang for this low-slung saunter into moody disco territory. "Terror Island" is an odd but endearing specimen: its childlike synthesized flute loops and fluttering electronic riffs suggest innocent playfulness, while the growling bass, clipped guitars and thick percussion are much more menacing. The resultant mix is creepy, but strangely funky, too. Fellow Italians Mushrooms Project and Enzo Ponzio take it turns to remix, with the latter's string stabs and chugging 'is-it-Balearic' groove just edging out the former's dark nu-disco concoction. A very solid package, all told.

Review:
All-star nu-Italo collaboration alert! Two masters of the contemporary Italian disco scene collide on one stylish release for Nang, and the results are pretty much as you'd expect. Being Nang, there's a whiff of synth-pop about the original mix, but the vocoder-riffic vocals largely play second fiddle to analogue groovery, fuzzy cosmic rock riffage and bubbling synth meldodies. Somehow, "Shooting Star" manages to simultaneously sound old and new - like on of those odd records Daniele Baldelli used to champion, given a 21st century kick up the backside. There's an ace dub for those who dislike the vocals, while Toomy tries to channel the ghost of Barry Mason on his "Body"-aping remix.

Review:
Italo vibes don't come more authentic than this 29 year old beauty.... Experiencing Cori's original back in 83 must have been like taking a future tablet and landing in the 21st century. Seriously forward thinking, heedlessly groovy and unashamedly funky, it still stands tall by today's standards. There have been various unofficial edits and dubs over the years but it seems Nang's been giving the green light for this full release, complete with a sprawling dub that highlights and accentuates all the best elements of Cori's original. For good measure the slightly less-timeless original b-side "Mirror Of Your Own World" has been thrown in too. How delightful!

Review:
For those with an interest in the lefttield side of European disco, the recent renaissance of legendary Italian DJ Daniele Baldelli has been an exciting development. For those outside of Northern Italy, Baldelli remained a marginal figure for many years. Although he - and, it could be argued, compatriot Beppe Loda - invented the cosmic disco sound in the late 1970s and early 80s, it's only in the last decade that the sound has been celebrated across the globe. This collaborative EP with fellow Italian spinner DJ Rocca is his first release since 2009. It sees the duo give contemporary nudisco a fresh new twist, adding obvious Italo, cosmic and old skool electro influences. Nowhere is this more evident than on lead track "RoBa Che Scotta", where the veteran duo add simplistic, stargazing melodies to a rough, appregiated groove. There's beauty within the heavy analogue beats and bassline, but they never lose sight of the dancefloor. Ichisan provides a slightly grubbier, disco-centric rework for those who dig straight-up nudisco. The EP finishes with the title track. Similarly melodic and intergalactic in its construction, 'Space Scribble' has an endearing, child-like quality thanks to a sprightly mix of original electro beats, swirling chords and analogue synth riffery. It's a great end to Baldelli's best EP yet.

Review:
Here, nu-disco heavyweights Nang join forces with Ilija Rudman's Red Music imprint to present two brand new remixes of cuts from New Jersey disco revivalists Escort. Rudman's own remix of album track "Cameleon Chameleon" is probably the pick. He manages to put his own mark on the Kid Creole-ish original whilst retaining many of the original elements (the strings, guitars, bits of the vocal), adding a heavyweight synth bassline and some gorgeous electronic flourishes. On the (virtual) flipside, Max Essa tries a similar trick with "Starlight", arranging the original's standout elements around a dubby, cowbell-driven boogie groove. Both remixes are fairly reverential, but also add something new.

Review:
Slovenian duo, Ichisan & Nakova drop their debut full length on Greg Wilson's Nang imprint. On Yugo Tempo, the duo infuse the sounds of modern electronic disco with the melodies and rhythms they found in the more traditional music genres that surrounded them in their youth. Merging the disciplines of wonky, ethnic and Balearic disco into one record, we hear indigenous melodies, Tarantino-esque guitar lines and aluminium suitcases full of atmosphere. A curious yet wholly entertaining work from the duo, this debut album is well worth checking out whatever your musical preference.

Review:
It's nice to see Cologne veteran Justus Kohncke turning up on decidedly shiny nu-disco imprint Nang. While something of a maverick -see his "pop ambient" releases and love of expansive, melodic noodling - you can't fault his more dancefloor-centric offerings. "Fussmachine" is another departure, a loose deep house groover that manages to fuse rumbling, low-end pressure, jazz-flecked beats and hustling organ stabs with a whisper of retro piano house chic. It's hard to accurately describe, to be honest, but it's certainly very good - and nowhere near as cheesily "big" as some of the elements suggest. Lasertom provides a superficial nu-disco rework for the Nang faithful, while "Renewal" trots off in a pleasingly spacious, stargazing direction.

Review:
Perhaps fed up with being typecast as a maker of shiny, soft focus Balearica and nu-disco, Max Essa has taken the bold step to launch a new side project. Unlimited Man, his first full-length under the Jan Ken Po guise, clearly wanders further towards the dancefloor than some of his previous output, but his trademarks - those bright pianos, that hint of disco dubbiness and those swooshy synths - remain. There's admittedly a little more grit to tracks like "Civilised Gangbang" and "Palm Beach Boy Trees", and "Horny Diplomat" has a lovely cosmic disco feel, but really it's business as usual. If you enjoy Essa's productions, that's a very good thing indeed.

Review:
Following its appearance on Nang's recent compilation "The Array Volume 2", Nuuro's "Avila" gets a single release. For those with a passion for swirling synthesizer atmospherics, it comes highly recommended. Though slightly dancefloor minded in construction, its waspish, autotune-laden vocals and bubbly electronics suggest Nuuro intended to pitch it at a leftfield pop audience - there's certainly an 'in the know' feel to proceedings. Cool kids take note. Lusty Zanzibar provides the obligartory remixes, upping the atmosphere to paranoia-inducing levels of late night smokiness. There's also a bonus cut, "After A Night Out", which demonstrates Nuuro's love of floor-friendly punk-funk shoutiness.
