Review:
Russian Buzz Compass returns to the eminently collectable No More Hits series, and it's a hoot for all discophiles. The cheekily titled "Forget Me Nuts" takes the classic Patrice Rushen refrain and loops it into infinity, very much in the manner you might hear on a Duckbeats record. Things take a turn for the heavier as we hit "Carland", a pumping filtered house track that reeks of Chi-town bompty business we'd expect to hear from Farina. "The Sun" is a warm and whimsical head nod to a very cool classic while "Honesty" brings us to a soft, meandering conclusion with a guitar and key loop that builds and builds but never lets go. More No More Hits please!

Review:
For the latest volume in their usually reliable series, No More Hits have turned to hitherto little-known Russian producer Andrey Bychenko, AKA Buzz Compass. As with previous instalments, Bychenko aims straight for the dancefloor, turning in a trio of filter-heavy disco-house bumpers. "Let Me Love You" sets the tone, turning a long forgotten, sax-heavy disco-funk jam into a bumpin' chunk of hip-wigglin' goodness. "Egyptian Nights" dips the tempo, cutting up smooth disco classic "Nights Over Egypt" and adding some loose new drums. The final cut, "Best Friend", turns an old R&B jam into a delicious chunk of midtempo soulfulness.

Review:
Given that many of the original heroes of slow house have moved on to pastures new, it's nice to see No More Hits still championing the cause of the hypnotic slow dance. This EP from the mysterious G&D features a trio of slow jams that should tickle the fancy of anyone who likes their bumpin' beats with a burst of enforced head nodding. Lead cut "Some Talk" is the standout track, delivering a fearlessly sturdy blast of 95 BPM reggae disco in a looped-up style. "Mustang" ups the tempo a little for a trip into deeper pastures (check out that lovely male vocal sample), while "Turned" drops the bass for a breezy trip through soulful, horn-drenched groovery.

Review:
Now a good 15 releases in, No More Hits continue to prove that slow-motion disco re-edits are here to stay. This time round, another mysterious duo, K&G (following G&D - NMH #13), take to the stage for a three tracker. Two of the tunes contained here are different versions of the same track: "Ain't No Woman Like Fabiola" is takes an old Four Tops tune and adds some taut guitars, swirling strings and a 4/4 beat while "Ain't No Woman Like Letiza (dub)" is a sped up version, with more loops and dancefloor focus. No prizes for guessing that " Let's Stay Together" is of course, Al Green's perennial soul classic reverently tweaked and teased here into a whopping eight minutes!

Review:
On its original vinyl release in early 2011, No More Hits Volume 1 offered an early indication that there was more to Italian producer Nicholas than we'd previously thought. Before this three-track EP landed, we had him down as a slo-mo disco/house fusionist - a kind of Euro-Revenge with a more obvious love of soul. No More Hits Volume 1 delivered reworks of forgotten gems in a slick soulful house style that displayed a deep knowledge of 1990s US garage. If you missed out first time around, this digital reissue is well worth picking up, especially for the sassy, sunny-day vibes of colourful closer "The Way".

Review:
By now, we should all know what to expect from Nicholas: decidedly touchy-feely deep house dripping with classic soul and disco influences (not to mention grooves that sound like they've been pinched from old Nu Groove records). This belated return to original home No More Hits is packed with sultry, soulful goodness, from the classic, organ-heavy garage rework of Tammi Tyrrell and Marvin Gaye fave "If This World Were Mine", to the odd, sludgy groovery of "World Of Confusion" and breezy soul-house jam of "Can You Understand". There's also a beefy blast of disco hedonism in the shape of "I Know A Place".
