Review:
Already packing some enthusiastic support from Calvertron, Flore and Peo De Pite, 601 are back with another of their unique breakbeat/jungle hybrids, this time on Aquasky's Passenger label. The Wattstax-sampling "Brothers & Sisters" packs a huge punch thanks to some fiercely wobbled bass, while "This Years Champion" rocks a raw Amen-break alongside moody pads and old-skool rave stabs. The full-on half-step menace of "Space Fury" rounds off this downright dirty EP.

Review:
Back under their original alias - having taken some very successful time out for their their straight-up electro project Black Strobe - Aquasky return in a big way with this latest full-length collection, which, from Amen-sampling opener "Take Over Me" goes at full pelt. Excursions into astral dubstep ("Raise The Devil"), fierce fidgety bassline ("Girls Girls Girls") and murky grime goodness ("Phantom") all come together to make this one of the most debauched and down right filthy albums we've heard in a long while.

Review:
Part one of two wherein we find Aquasky's 2011 EP gets an upfront facelift from a very credible cross-section of contemporary artists. The title track gets the biggest repositioning by Russian upstarts The Damn Bell Doors who chew up Aquasky's original and spit it back in a multi-colour bass rainbow that's so bright and confrontational it'll give the likes of Borgore a run for his money. Track two sees Aquasky remixing their own work. A collabo with Pyramid and Roisin Brophy, they've switched "And The Beat Goes" up so it sits cheekily sits between screeching dubstep and rollicking drum & bass. If you're looking for some real face-melters for your set you won't go wrong with these one bit...

Review:
Part two of two. While Aquasky's previous remix package packed a serious bass and breaks punch, this release is more about the four/four. That's not to say it isn't saturated in low-end energy itself... Will Bailey's never been shy of a bit of filth, and here, on his remix of "Press Play", he lays it down so thickly it sounds like early Switch fodder. Finishing off the package with suitable hand-waving aplomb, Heavyfeet take "And The Beat Goes" way back to 91 with skippy breaks and lush pianos before dropping you into yet another bass-bitten riff. Quickly now, we hear the Devil has already bought up most the copies of this already...

Review:
Equally at home with breaks and D&B, as well as the electro-house of their Black Noise alias, the trio behind Aquasky return with these two new crucial tunes that see them fuse breaks and tech-funk with a grimey attitude and dubstep bass. "Take Me There" chops and drops vocals from Diane Charlemagne over a punishing switch-step beat and an enormous lead sound, while "Feel The Sound" is a 130bpm blow-out that shows that, despite having formed in the mid-90s, the lads have relentlessly avoided going soft over time. Hard, floor-filling stuff and a perfect combination of styles.

Review:
Veteran South Coast bassheads Aquasky have been around longer than the Ark, constantly changing shape to keep abreast of current musical trends. This remix EP is a great case in point. The headline-grabbing track is a wobbly, pulsing dubstep work of Diane Charlemagne collaboration "Take Me There" that should appeal to a wide range of bass fiends. Then there's the Jay Robinson rework, which smashes together old skool hardcore and contemporary dubstep to devastating effect. The EP closes with a 601 remake of "Feel The Sound", which hits all the retro-rave buttons with its original hardcore breaks, junglist snares and warped noises.

Review:
Returning back to their original alias after taking time out with their electro-excursion Black Noise, Aquasky are here again and in the house with long time collaborators the Ragga Twins on these two newies. "Living Legends" brilliantly uses the parts of "Amen Brother" most other producers send straight to the recycle bin, and combined with the twins ever-powerful vocals, it's a straight-up slammer. "Raggatron" comes over all early-'80s electro with thrilling effect, and mixes from Rennie Pilgrim and Sly & Pasco on a D&B hype don't disappoint either. DJs, check out the Juno Download-only dub of "Living Legends" too.

Review:
When it comes to 'bringing a party' Aquasky excel more than most of their contemporaries put together. This ear-smashing five-track selection is no exception; featuring the likes of 601, Black & Blunt, MadRush, Heavyfeet and the Ragga Twins the whole EP screams shindig so loudly you can smell the party poppers. The highlight has to be "Heatwave", featuring a well known sample and a whole gaggle of vocalists bouncing back-and-forth, its Aquasky doing exactly what they do best. Other highlights include 601's expert use of a certain horn sample and some fine dubstep style bass wrapped tightly round razor sharp breakbeats. Shucks, the whole collection is a highlight... Join the party!

Review:
Bournemouth badmen Aquasky have been peddling their own distinct blend of uncompromising, hard-as-nails bass music for nigh-on 20 years. And still they keep delivering. Joining the dots between their own breakbeat bass science and dubstep, Bring The Ruckus is one of their noisiest, most hectic compilations to date. And here are two mighty remixes to compliment it. Funtcase's rub adds a walloping sense of wobbly drama and loin-girding 4/4s while Genetix's rub comes across like Justice's "Waters Of Nazareth", had they written it on a really bad day. While someone's punching their dog. In a nutshell: nasty.

Review:
One of the key components in the "drumstep" revolution that's sweeping the airwaves between D&B and dubstep at the moment, Kenny Ken's son Crissy Criss goes in on the Bill Posters' original "Hold On" with all the reckless abandon the 1Xtra DJ regularly displays in his expansive, pedal-to-the-metal mixes. Cavorting breaks are coupled with rave-addled synth chords and whinnying vocals here; not so much falling into the drop as storming into it, with a frenzy of drum rolls, bass wobbles and synth jitters, it's turbo-charged right from the start and doesn't let up until the end. It's got "party" stamped all over it.

Review:
London's Bill Posters fuses elements of breaks, electro and dubstep on this latest single, led by the squelch and strings of "Hold On" - a tune that flits between extreme wobble and softer, more trippy build-ups. "Lands End" is a more full-on assault that'll please fans of gnarly dubstep, while Aquasky's version of "Hold On" is even more abrasive - with distorted bass dropping in all manner of time signatures over huge punchy drums. Crissy Criss provides a furious D&B/dubstep mash-up to round off this seizure-inducing single.
