Review: For fans of contemporary disco business, the mere concept of shadowy plus four wearers Tiger & Woods tackling a Tensnake production will cause prolonged heart palpitations. And we've been kept waiting a long time for the duo's take on "Need Your Loving" to finally surface with Niemerski having revealed its origins in December of last year - I guess that's why Permanent Vacation is called so! Tiger & Woods do as you'd expect they would, masterfully slicing the track and piling the layers atop each other before finally dropping into the infectious original towards the end. Original and dub mix also included!

Review: Norwegian disco beard Todd Terje launches this epic (and unmixed) collection of some of his best remixes. Ranging from the rare to the ubiquitous, the underlying theme here is quality. There's some killer cuts under his different aliases (Duliatten Disco Dandia, Kacic Kullmann?s Five), which includes an unashamedly awesome reworking of Ace of Base, erm, classic "All That She Wants" under the Chuck Norris moniker. Throw into that remixes of Jose Gonzalez, M, Rogue Cat, old chum Lindstrom and of course Shit Robot, and you have a compilation not to miss. Indeed, unless you have followed the Terje's career with an incredibly hawkish eye, there's sure to be a few gems on here that you missed the first time round. And there's even an hour long mix of Terje classics at the end to round it off.

Review: Munich label Permanent Vacation serve up a second helping of If This Is House I Want My Money Back, presenting twelve tracks of truly cosmopolitan house from some of the best producers out there. Familiar Vacationers such as the Hivern duo of Talabot and Pional return (and provide two of the compilations highlights) along with the likes of Jacob Korn and naturally Permanent Vacation themselves. New arrivals feature more prominently here, and justify their inclusion most notably "Excited", the rough hewn warehouse endeavour from Future Times duo Beautiful Swimmers. The aforementioned Talabot jam "Leave Me" provides the most immediate gratification, demonstrating the Spaniard's true panache for teasing out obscure samples across a track that is constantly twisting with life. However it's surrounded by eleven productions that reveal their own brilliance with time and that's surely the mark of a fine compilation.

Review: Munich label Permanent Vacation's annual Selected Label Works collections are rarely less than essential, and this third volume is no different. As usual, there's an enjoyable mix of dancefloor hits, leftfield disco curiosities, rabble-rousing remixes and atmospheric, occasionally Balearic moments. With such a vast tracklist and the quality threshold high throughout, it's hard picking highlights. Worth particular attention, though, are Todd Terje's quaint dub reggae rework of Europop hit "All That She Wants" (covered under his occasional Chuck Norris guise), the quirky Germanic pop of new signings Candyblasta and Argy's thrilling, Hacienda-style Balearic breaks mix of his own Zodiac Free Arts Club track "NAOE".
