Review:
Sadly, we couldn't find much concrete information about this quirky compilation from perennial weird rock crate-digger Johnny Kitchen. It's basically a collection of odd, left-of-centre American garage rock, pre-progressive curiosities, funk-fried West Coast pop and acid-inspired jazz-rock strangeness, all of which could be described as "obscure" or "little known". It offers a glimpse into the strange musical fusions found at the fringes of American rock music in the mid to late 1960s - a period when the consumption of strange new drugs was opening the "doors of perception" (as William Burroughs put it). As such, it's an excellent collection, whether or not you're a garage rock aficionado.
