Review:
Ahead of their forthcoming and wildly-anticipated new album Warriors, Stanton Warriors have dropped the live-wire "New York" single in advance - and it's got us seriously panting for more. With a heavy electro sheen to the boogie-inspired synths, the Warriors have injected their trademark sound with a little more funk than usual, whilst keeping the drums huge and breaks-based. A big tune from an outfit that know how to deliver it large.

Review:
The British breaks duo who have stayed on top of the game for almost ten years are back with this new beast of a single - already enthusiastically supported by Zane Lowe (does he support things any other way?) in his "Hottest Record In The World" slot. With copious bass fitted snugly around a ghetto-tropical rhythm and an excellent drop into a half-speed psych-rock sample, this is real progression from the Stanton's and a killer start to the year for them.

Review:
Veteran breakbeat duo Stanton Warriors have their 2011 collaboration with Hollywood Holt and Berlin's Jahcoozi, "Ouepa Ouepa" remixed in fine style by fellow 90s survivors, The Freestylers. Eschewing the original's ragga/wobble/bass vibes, The Freestylers apply their breakbeat rhythms and a ravey ascending/descending bassline. It's also pleasing to note that the original's rap ,which contains an interesting inclusion of the word 'epidermis', has been left in.

Review:
A huge release, with some equally huge remixes, as breaks kings Stanton Warriors wrap Ruby Goe's vocals around a swathe of bassy licks and gnarled leads on "Shoot Me Down". Herve weighs in heavy with a classy mix of Korg M1 organ leads and sampled drums giving it a nice mix of early-'90s rave/house and modern sonics, while Steep's Moombahton mix slows things right down and adds some glorious bleep leads. Sigma's mix however is clearly going to be the one that gets caned by DJs - a furious dubstepper with an enormous, double-time build that simply defies description! Huge stuff indeed.
