Review:
One of the top-tier of UKF producers, Doc Daneeka returns with this essential new rhythm for Roska's Kicks & Snares label. Winding in vicious string stabs into a typically effusive beat, the Doc measures is perfectly and provides a funky banger with a huge amount of clout. Fellow UKF A-listers Funkystepz also drop a sub-worrying remix of "Murdah Strings" on the (digital) flip.

Review:
Bristol dubstep/UKF producer Gemmy makes an impressive stand on Roska's Kicks and Snares label with this fresh EP, containing the winding neon buzz of "Lakota", the tropical dub of "Badman" and the minimal house spank of the wicked "We Watch The Sun Rise". Huge American electro rocker AC Slater turns in a less subtle but very effective breaks-styled rerub of "Lakota" too.

Review:
Any naysayers believing that UK funky is in decline need look no further than Roska's Kicks & Snares imprint which continually delivers the goods in terms of vital, high quality material. Beyond The Sea is MA1's second release on the imprint, showing off his diverse production talents. The title track is a deep number with cavernous synth stabs, whilst "Rockstaa" has all the swagger its name suggests, rolling along with a tumbling bassline and razor sharp claps. "Circles" is a distinctly more soulful number whiles "Bassbox" uses a distinctly ravey, ruckus-rousing high pitched synth stab and building claps. Finally, Shox remixes "Beyond The Sea", stripping it right back to it barest components, using its melodic hook sparingly and adding some sawtooth bite.

Review:
Having previously contributed two remixes for Roska's Kicks And Snares label, the UKF don gives the Rinse DJ a chance to flex out on his own with this ace new EP. Title tune "Battlestar" goes on a more techno-slanted voyage of dancing bleeps and thick 4/4 kicks, while "Hold Your Corner" punches in nicely on a funky/grime edge. Best of all though might be the upfront and bright "Pass Go", which recalls Funkystepz' kaleidoscopic arrangements but with a more Euro-friendly drive.

Review:
Boom! Here's the latest release by the shady producer (aka Mr Tickles) whose previous releases have topped charts and been championed by the likes of SBTRKT. He doesn't let the side down here with three excellent takes on electronic urban dance music. "Short Fuse" features incendiary reggaeton beats, quirky percussion and a bouncy, bouncy, bouncy electro bassline. "Crisp Biscuit" is less hectic, more stripped back and is a lean DJ tool, but "Ironhide" is a totally badass tropical-house anthem.

Review:
Tony Tokyo debuts on Roska's Kicks and Snares imprint with "More Than A Fantasy", and rather than the flexing UKF the label is usually known for, his style is more that of the bassy, swung house of the Hypercolour camp, combining swung rhythms, dubby stabs and a cascading vocal sample. RKS regular Tickles provides his own take on the track, delivering a streamlined, techy version of the track which adds screaming synths and bouncing percussive tics.
