Review: An excellent four-track EP from up-and-coming talent Asa with remixes from Culprate and Gatekeeper. From eponymous opener "Sweeter Things", all trickling Burial meets Phaeleh type beats, to collab with Bristol duo Koan Sound "Kaneda", it's an eclectic and expansive display of production skill here. Along the way are "Digital Alchemy" - an atmospheric piece with menacing undertones and "Skruella" - a strumming, guitar laden piece with chopped up Ramadanman like vocal snippets. Remixes of the aforementioned "Digital Alchemy" by Culprate, who adds a more chirpy, upbeat interpretation, and "Kaneda" by dubstep don Gatekeeper, complete the package.

Review: Flatmate presents a killer five-track EP on Screwloose which ticks all the boxes. Kicking off with the title track "Syllah" and we are immediately plunged into a world of swirling synths, distorted vocals and thumping drum kicks. Surreal and disorientated we continue through "Odd Circle" with its smacking snares and syncopated beats to "Drive" which is a punishing bassline driven track with plenty of punch. Then it's onwards, ever onwards, to "Owns" which blends electrifying synths and grizzling mid range with snapping SFX, and then we end with the Subdue remix of "Odd Circle" just to round things off.

Review: Bristol based Koan Sound deliver two churning, heavy hitting drum & bass tracks on Screwloose Records. The title track morphs and twists deep synths and sub bass into a feisty killer whereas "Blueberry Pie" showcases a more sensitive side with glimmering melodies, calming keys and warm atmospherics before the punchy beat kicks back in.

Review: Expect some fairly mind-bending dubstep from Nowan on the Screwloose imprint. Title track "Osaka Sundown" is full of Rustie-style synth embellishments, juddering syncopation and building layers of sound. Next up, "Hidden Galaxy" is full of powerful atmospherics, glitch SFX and then there is the low-slung, shimmering swagger of "Dream Remnant". Continuing the journey into outer space is"Spirit" with its shuffling beats and mournful instrumental element; then we move on to a 50HZ remix of "Hidden Galaxy", plus Kursa's searing dubstep re-lick of "Dream Remnant" and Sorrow's remix of "Spirit" which rounds the EP off in style.
