Serialism At Juno Download

Review: It's easy to say that an EP is "impressively varied", but that's very rarely the case. In this instance, though, it's true. The lead cut - a collaboration between Rainer and Serialism label boss Cesare - delivers a delicious late night bumper, all disconnected vocal samples, old skool NYC garage riffery and subtle disco guitars. "27th Room" is a wonky midtempo house oddity, whilst title track "8000 Feet Up" (also available in a Shaun Reeves and Tale Of Us edit format) is a deep, swinging, late night delight. That just leaves "You Don't Know She's A Fox", a delirious slab of low-slung disco-funk/deep house/alternative pop fusion. Eclectic? You bet.
