Review: For their first foray into the world of reworks, previously low-key French label Sharivari has really pushed the boat out. The five-track showcase includes remixes from techno royalty Orlando Voorn and Dan Curtin. The former's unfeasibly positive, spacious rework of Art Bleek's "The Real Thing" hits the spot, sitting somewhere between classic piano house, misty-eyed Balearica and good old-fashioned Detroit futurism. Curtin delivers two typically warm and futuristic rubs of the Cab Drivers' "Club Despot". There's a loose but heavy, Rhodes-laden Dub and the Touch of Space Remix, which is an all-out techno-funk trip full of darting synths and tight bottom end. Meanwhile, Parisian studio nut Marcelus drops suitably intense tweak of Kink's "Rave Signal".
