Review: Techno imprint Sonido presents the second Kommune release, a compilation of tracks from label regulars and newcomers. It's an interesting if decidedly teutonic release, offering five distinctly different takes on techno and tech-house. Contrast, for example, the driving, acid-flecked confusion of Flug 8's intense "Geschwindigkeit" with the winding, upbeat grooves of Kasbah Zoo's epic "Hornet"; both are primed for peaktime plays, but offer vastly different listening experiences. Then there's Deepmonoteque's "Do Not Turn Around", a comfy bumper that deviously revolves around some choice old skool rave riffage and whispered vocals.
